Subject: Which "freebies" can I use in Poser 7 without having Victoria?

mariajudyta ( ) posted Tue, 09 December 2008 at 5:59 PM · edited Wed, 15 January 2025 at 5:21 AM

Hello!

I have Poser 7. It includes a so called Jessica and Sydney. Which clothes for example can I use for them? Do such clothes exist or do I really need Victoria?

Another question is - what is the difference between conforming and dynamic clothes?

Thanks in advance for you answers.

You can use freebies made for Jessica and Sydney with Jessica and Sydney. Victoria clothing may be used but may take some adjustment. Victoria is more popular so there are more freebies out there for her.....the base model of victoria 4 is free.

Ill let someone else explain bout dynamic/conforming....I know the diff just find it hard to explain lol.

Hi , you can get the base models of Victoria 3, Mike 3 , aiko 3 and Hiro from www.download.com. Search on Daz , theres a figure bundle.   It does not include the morphs but the base figures can be quite useful and theres tons of freestuff for V3.

Conforming clothes are figures where joint positions match exactly with the figure they are made for. When applied and conformed they will move with the figure.

A figure is used for both describing V3,V4 M3 etc and technically as any jointed item.

Dynamic clothes are props that can be used in the cloth room , which simulates real cloth behavior on the figure.

A good majority of Jessica and Sydney clothing can be found @ runtimedna.com and contentparadise.com.  Unfortunately, there isn't a huge selection unlike the DAZ millennium models.

Conforming clothing is designed to fit and bend with a specific figure, it cannot be shared between figures withoug additional work. The clothing is divided into body-part groups and these body-part groups use the same conventional names as those in the underlying figure.  When you 'conform', the groups in the conforming clothing mirror the setings of their corresponding counterparts in the figure.  When posing your figure, the conforming clothing automatically follows the same pose.

Dynamic clothing is a prop, typically found in your Props Library.  They are parented to your figure, and if you want to clothe your figure then you must apply them in the Cloth Room.  Therefore, you need to clothify the prop to make it move with figure, thus dressing your figure.  In essence, what you are doing is creating an animation to use dynamic clothing.

The figure bundle includes the base figures. The morphs have to be bought separately from Daz.

But the base figures are all you need if you just want to be able to use clothes and textures for them.

Morphs allow you to alter the figures shape, so you can make people who look quite different. There are some morphs included in the base figure so you can have facial expressions , like smile , frown , blink eyes but you need an add-on morphs product to alter the body shape.

V3 base is hard to locate now that V4 is out , but theres so much free stuff for it that its worth having.
