Subject: Do you believe in MIRACELS?
Well miracles happen more than once I am so happy to hear that your wonderful Dad had the good fortune to have had the exact same end result as myself! I suspect as you will be all too aware these past few days have been a trial, but thank god the end result has been so good

Danny always said to me have faith, remember my story.....I kept it in my mind but I thought after the biopsy diagnose cancer I never thought it will end like Danny's story......
Danny told me this: with Pneumonia the cell changes and such can mimic cancer cells
that is what the doctors told us as well, she apologies for all the stress we went through
So now it seems to be true in my dads case.
I can tell you a little story, a while ago before my dad got that pneumonia I went with Django for a walk, from a distance I saw something drop on the ground a black thing. I went to that and it was a crow, dead just fallen out of the tree......to me a black crow is a bad sign.....so I told that story to my hubby, I said this will bring not good news....and a day after that my dad was in hospital....
Later when all the research started I was hoping that all went okay, but then we got the news "lungcancer" so he must have the pet scan to see if it was spread.....that day I went with Django to the forest, it was a grey day, snowing a little...but in the distance a small area turned in to a clear blue sky.......every step I took the blue went with me.......and still a small area...I was thinking this can be a very good sign......and yes we got the answer after the pet scan that the cancer was not spread.......now after all, the blue sky must be something to tell me that all will clear up bright......
and now I can tell you that that MIRACLES really exist

Ilona, I do not believe in miracles but I believe that anything can happen and usually does. (Maybe same thing but not under devine rule. )
When my lung collapsed a few years ago, they found a spot in the lung. They had to go in to repair the damage where the lung broke anyway so they decided, although the spot was very small, they would take it and part of the lung out to make sure. During surgery they biopsied the spot, found it benign so they only cut a small chunk of lung out and did not cut out half of the lung as they had planned.
2 weeks ago, my oldest boy went to the emergency room with horrible pain in his chest. Tests showed no heart problems. They did a scan and said he had emphysema and fluid inside and outside the lung - same lung as mine. He did a follow up appointment with his own doctor last week. His doctor did not find fluid or air loss or even the signs of emphysema, but they found a spot... a little bigger than mine was when they found it. He goes back in 3 months to see if it changes at all, but I believe it will not. And because anything can happen and usually does, it is just possiblye it won't be there at all when they look next time. :-)
I am so happy for you and for your father. My father died of lung cancer 20 years ago Dec. 5th. A father is a STELLAR thing to have. :-)

Ilona, I'm so happy for you!!!! What a miracle indeed! I believe in the power of prayer and I've been praying for you and your dad since I heard the news. This is by far the best Christmas present any family could ever receive!!! I wish you peace, joy, and love..... and a big hug!!!!

Really good news, and I'm happy for you your family and your dad, but it's a wrong diagnosis, not a miracle.
I do believe miracles happen (the fact that we're all alive is the biggest miracle of all) but this is science at its worst.
My ex's dad had...lungcancer. He also had two heart valves that leaked, so they couldn't do anything about his heart because of his lungs and nothing to his lungs because of his heart.
The specialist gave him nine months at the most.
We decided not to tell him as he was already 78 and brooding.
He died this year, aged 91. Of kidney failure.
Had they told him he had only nine months left, he would have died nine months later.
That's not a miracle either, it's avoiding a self-fulfilling prophecy. We laugh at the "primitive man" who dies because the local sorcerer pointed a chicken bone at him. But when our local sorcerer does his "parlay", we immediately believe him.
Makes me think of StarWars. When Luke says "I can't believe that." , Yoda replies: "That's why you fail."

Ilona, having been close to certain life or death events in my family, I have seen a miracle happen. So, yes, I believe a miracle can take place. Some may happen and not be recognized and some called a miracle when not that but still wonderful for those involved. But this is about your dad and your happiness and his...joy indeed.
Oh, how happy you must be and the tone of this post compared to the one when we were wishing you well and offering prayers...wonderful, wonderful! Tom

Do you believe in miracles?Maybe you don't believe what I have to tell now, this is really the most wonderful news I ever got.
Today we had a meeting to talk about all results from all test my dad had the last 5 days.
I could not go to the hospital because I have a stomach flu, which is not good for sick people.
So I phoned up the hospital to ask for advise what was the best to do, because it was a very important doctor/family meeting.
The nurse said to me better stay a way from your dad because he was very sick and still weak.You can infect him with that bacteria as well.
So I stayed home. Around 15.00 my time they had a chat about all, and I was waiting for a phone call to hear the news and what they decided to do.
Surgery or chemo treatment with radiation. I was restless which is normal after almost 4 weeks.
Around 16.00 my sister phoned me up in tears and she hardly came out of her words......to tell me that they didn't found the cancer anymore, all was clean.
All blood test were 100% the biking test was 100% the second Bronscopy he had they took again tiny pieces of the lung tissue for biopsy.
The result was again nothing found about cancer.......so my dad is cancer free, they made a wrong diagnose.
So you can't believe how I felt when my sister told me this wonderful news.
I was telling her that my friend "DANOB" has exactly the same some years ago.
His diagnose after a double pneumonia was also "lung cancer" and after 2 weeks there was nothing to see anymore.
Danny told be about that when I told Danny that my dad has lungcancer.
He said....remember what I told you they can make wrong diagnoses.
And he was right, the same happened with my dad....I still can't believe it because we lived now for almost 2 weeks with the diagnose lung cancer.
So after my sister told me I asked her if the lung-Doctor was able to talk to me by phone.
Because I was home I was not a witness to hear it with my own ears because of my stomach flu.
So she gave her cell phone to the Doctor and she explained me what is happened.
Because of the heavy infection from the pneumonia they made a wrong diagnoses.
So I could not believe what she told me and I was in tears.
My dad is home now, there was no need to keep him longer in hospital. He will have in January again some test for check ups.
And later a bronscopy again.
This was the most wonderful news I got in my whole life. So miracles still exist

I really hope that Danny "danob" will explain a bit more about his diagnoses some years ago, so that you can understand it better how I feel about it. This picture "me and my daddy" is taken by Ger 6-12-08 with a cell phone in hospital, not that good quality, but good enough for a reminder how sick he was. And now he is home right after the doctors told him about this news......
