Your question prompted me to take a closer look at M4 eyes.
Somebody on the M4 construction team does not belong in CG as they have no clue.
The pupil is actually a 3-dimensional disk that indents from the iris. No matter how you shade that, if it has any color at all (not black) you will see the shape when light falls on it.
You can use the pupils dilate morph to reduce the radius, but it will still be indented and look like a bowl.
Geez what a horibble noob mistake this is.
Renderosity forum reply notifications are wonky. If I read a follow-up in a thread, but I don't myself reply, then notifications no longer happen AT ALL on that thread. So if I seem to be ignoring a question, that's why. (Updated September 23, 2019)

This is really bad. I had not looked closely enough at his eyes to see this. I suppose that his eyes could be replaced with V4's eyes. I personally don't know how to do this, but perhaps someone could and upload to freestuff.

Is there any way to have 'no' pupil on Michael?
I am creating the characters in the fantasy novel I'm writing in Poser7 and the one character is a god-like character with bright blue eyes with absolutely no pupil. I have created the texture, but what seems to be happening is that the ambient setting in the materials pane is still leaving the shadow and reflection on the pupil. I've tried all sorts of different colours and transparencies and ambient values, but I can't just make it totally disappear--or at least, I can't find the box to check.
The character is almost done, but this pupil problem is ruining the whole effect.
Thanks in advance for any tips of tricks you may be able to share, as i haven't used Poser in a few years and the material room is a bit tricky still for me. :)
