Subject: Hair moving in an animation

Are there simple ways to make hair move along with a character as he/she moves in an animation?

I would think that dynamic hair would be the way to go but I haven't used it myself.

I couldn't find a tute on the rendo site but have incuded a link to a set of tutes on expertvillage.com

Dynamic hair will move in animations , for modelled hair you need to use the morphs in the hair and animate that way.

I have the same issue, seems there are three ways to do this in Poser.

First, learn how to use Posers hair room, its a bit like learning to hair style, I think once you have learnt this ist will be the best way, cant comment on how it looks as I havent started on it yet.

Second, use the morph/control handles of conforming hair, I think this would be hard to make look realistic and would indeed be very time consuming, I havent tried this as I just dont have the stomach for it.

Third, I have heard of people trying to clothify some conforming hair (in the same way as you can turn conforming clothing into dynamic clothing). I havent tried this, and my bet is that it will be a chore, but you may get lucky.

animation does tend to be a time sucking activity , if you want it to look really great.

There are some python scripts that will create a cyclic movement or a random movement that can help in long animations .

The issue is that the hair in question is WASG hair.  I need the bangs in the front to move side to side, but there are no built in morphs to make this happen.  One entire side of the hair or the other moves, including the bangs and the side of the hair which goes inside the skull.

I didn't realize this would be so difficult to achieve.

I dont have that hair so cant try it, but maybe you could try and clothify it? you may get lucky and it works, then allyou need to tackle is the textures.

I wonder if I could select a portion and make a new material, then move that with magnets.
