yep, vista 64
I'm wondering if I got hit with that new bug thats going around already. (I did install the new critical updatesw, but you never know what's going on like that now a days)
I'm going to try going back to a restore point from yesterday, and see if that resolves the issue.

I don;t know if it's a bug, or if something else is going wrong. the installer fails when it tried to install it's dependancies, the c++ files. It attempts to install them back to the dvd, rather then in the windows system folders where they belong (I think)
The exact same dvd installed fine on my older system.
I rolled back to yesterday, and am doing a virus scan, to see if maybe that's the culprit. after that completes successfully, I'll try the installer again.
We're also getting high winds here right now.. we almost lost power a half hour ago, and our gazebo blew off our deck, taking the christmas lights with it.
Just one hell of a fun day.

Ouch on the wind! Hope everything is not too busted up.
Make sure you have Administrator rights and turn off the UAC.

Wish I had a clue how to help - I haven't got a system worth putting Vista on yet. Do you have all the updates for Windows Vista installed?

Yeah - that's a thought, but maybe try to get the Microsoft c++ stuff from the Microsoft site. They should have it as a download/patch.

The c++ stuff is already installed. boththe older 2005 version (which poser pro installed I think), and the newer 2008 library. apparntly vue installs it anyway, even if it's already installed.
Everything else appears to be installing fine, so I have to suspect that its something odd in eon's v7I installer.
I might try installing V6I first, and seeing if that will install, and then try V7 after that.
I still have a lot of files to move, so I've put the V7I instll on the backburner, hoping eon comes up with a fix. Not sure what they'll do though, since my install disc did install fine on my old system, so it obviously isn't defective.
Maybe they'll give me a link for a download version, and I can try installing that, since I already have my serial number card.

Ok, this has me non plussed.
V7I installed fine on my old system.
I'm trying now toi install it on my new system, and the first thing it wants to install are it's dependancies... BUT it's trying to install them back onto it's own dvd instead of c:wherever
Anyone heard of this, and have a solution?
