Dave71 ( ) posted Fri, 19 December 2008 at 9:29 PM · edited Sun, 17 November 2024 at 4:36 AM

hi ya'll, i am back into this after a bit of a break due to illness, i am modelling in Silo and when i export the obj, i cannot import it into poser.

poser hangs when importing, i have the latest patches for poser and silo so i am not sure what the problem is, poser just hangs when importing.

thanks in advance
dave

Try importing some other OBJ that's in the regular Geometries folder,
like the OBJ for one of the primitive props.

If that doesn't work either, then you've got a problem in Poser itself .... most
likely the file FFOBJ.ARP in runtime/plugins.

If other OBJ files are okay, then you might try putting the bad one through
UVmapper.  Just load it and save it under a new name, without modifying
anything.  UVmapper often manages to straighten out an OBJ that's written
in some strange way.

It may be that your Poser installation is corrupted. Try reinstalling the latest service release then if that does not work I think you will need to reinstall Poser.

thanx i will try that.
any user prefs i should get rid of when uninstalling?

depends on what you want to do, I suppose. I usually don't worry about prefs, unless they say it's causing a problem...
