Subject: Looking for braided hair

KatFeete ( ) posted Tue, 09 December 2008 at 8:24 PM · edited Fri, 31 January 2025 at 2:18 PM

Hey,

I'm looking for a hairstyle with lots of long, skinny braids that I can use with M3 or Apollo. I was gonna use the Stephany hair (with the M3 refit) but that, along with Lisbeth's website, seems to have vanished. The Alitia Hair at DAZ is close:

... but it's not for M3 and a little girly. Any other suggestions?

There is a new item at Daz called Wynter Hair.

STudio Maya has a hair called RastaStyle hair.. I usually tweek hair to fit anyone.. the link is here.. about midway down the page, it has a knit hat on it but it is free and it is dreads.. TK

TheKatster ( ) posted Wed, 10 December 2008 at 5:13 PM

oops.. not exactly what you're looking for after all.. lol.. TK

KatFeete ( ) posted Fri, 12 December 2008 at 3:42 PM

Yeah... I'm willing to pay for commercial items, at this point, if I could just FIND something... but I can't. Dreads yes. Braids no.

Guess I'm settling for dreads.

This hairstyle is pretty much exactly what I want. Pity it's for entirely the wrong character and a conforming hair (and thus beyond my limited refitting skills....)

I've actually been looking for something similar, but for Michael. The Antwone Hair was perfect, but it doesn't work on Mac OSX. Anyone have any suggestions?

Elfwine ( ) posted Mon, 29 December 2008 at 9:54 PM

"...doesn't work on Mac OSX." Huh?!? Of course it'll work in Mac OSX. Its just a model. Go back to the product page and it lists both a PC & Mac product installer. Silly you! ;)

Stagedazzler ( ) posted Mon, 29 December 2008 at 10:40 PM

It's made for Mac OS9. It's an installer that won't open in OSX because Mac doesn't support the Classic environment anymore...

Miss Nancy ( ) posted Mon, 29 December 2008 at 10:44 PM

if somebody's got a link to antwone, I can check it out.  we have ways of dealing
with those old installers in OS X. no, wait, it's for sale and they're selling it in an OS 9
installer?  just tell 'em to get their butts in gear and fix that, or else it's "no sale".

Give DAZ Customer Support a chance to help you. They're good folks, I'm sure they'll help. But if it all goes south, I'm still running Mac OS9. And if you really really want it, after purchasing it, you could email it to me and I'd be happy to unpackage it for ya and email it back. I also promise to not keep a copy for myself. I've no interest in rat hair. PM me if choose to do so and I'll send you my email addy. Mac users stick together and help each other out. :D

LOL! That'd be awesome! I've already bought it and I'd really like to be able to sue it! And don't hate on the rat hair. ^.^  Thanks so much for the help!

technically it's a violation of the daz EULA to redistrib those files, even tho both
people are honest.  just bash daz techs over the head with an hammer until
they repackage it.  metaphorically speaking.

Hey Miss Nancy, love your avatar too! Great fun!! :D
