What do you mean by character? Taking a standard figure and applying various morphs and surface settings (yes, File>Save as>Pose preset, just applying morphs, or File>Save as>Character preset, applying morphs and surface settings). Or creating a brand new figure? (You can't model or create textures in DS, but if you have those done then - with a suitably set-up model - the Figure setup tools will allow you to make the mesh posable.
Hi, Everyone! I'm baaaaaaack! lol. I haven't had ANY time to play around with my DAZ for the longest! I mean like, whoa! Where have I been!? lol.
Ok, Now, I'm reeeeeeallly serious about learning this stuff. I'm actually MAKING time to read the User Guide and doing the tuts as it says. BUT I do have a question:
How do I make the character like Michael and Vic my own? I mean, Can I change their faces to something else?... you know.. make it look like someone else? Is there a tut for that? and where would I find it?
THANKS!!!
MERRY CHRISTMAS, HAPPY CHANUKA, and all that good stuff!
For some of these figures, you may need the proper morphs first. If you just have the free versions, you might not have the morphs to really change things around, other than their facial expressions. If you do have the morphs, you might need to Inject them into your model first. Look in your "Pose" folder, unless you've changed things around from the way DAZ installs them.
I'm certainly not a veteran at DAZ Studio, but I do enjoy playing with morphs... :)

is there a way to create your own characters in Daz Studio if not is there any free compatable program to do it with?
