Subject: Poser in DAZ Studio: Newbie Questions

Norski ( ) posted Fri, 09 January 2009 at 11:37 PM · edited Tue, 19 September 2023 at 4:27 PM

I have been using DAZ Studio: which seems  to use Poser, or have Poser embedded in it. Up to now, I've generally been able to use Poser models in DS.

And, I'm a Poser newbie: learning that IK means "Inverse Kinematics" was a eureka! moment for me today.

My issue:

I've run into a snag. A clothing model's setup requires that I turn off IK. There's an issue with 'zeroing the joints', too, but I think that can be handled in DS.

Is there access to strictly Poser controls in DS 2.1? If so, how do I find them?

Poser is a separate application from DS, but DS can handle (most) Poser content files. You can zero a figure from the Parameter palette option menu (click the triangle button at top-right of the palette). IK is a Poser-only feature so you can ignore the instruction to switch it off.

RHaseltine,

Thanks for the information and insight.

That explains why I couldn't find any reference to IK in DS. smile:
