hi everyone, i have an image i have in my mind, but for it to look its best i will need to add motion to the image. how would i achieve this? i would like  my models hair to look as if it is swaying, not just to look static. i know photoshop is an option but is it the only option?

Poser can add "motion blur" to an image, but it's really not very satisfactory. If you're comfortable with Photoshopping the picture, you'll probably get better results.

Here's a previous discussion with some useful examples and details:

I dont like motion blur - it looks so blatantly gimmicky. It cant be avoided in slow speed cameras, but there isnt much justification for it in a cg image. If you want it to look like a snap-shot out of a sequence use

  1. A dynamic pose which is part of a continuous motion - e.g with rotation of the whole body, the torso or any other part relevant to the image's subject
  2. dynamic hair
  3. dynamic clothes

If you put some thought into 1, 2 nd 3 will contain the 'memory' of what happen just before, and look more convincing and more interesting than any motion blur can achieve.

If you have Vue, that does motion blur a lot easier than Poser's system but will increase render time, I think most peeps do it as post including me!
