Yes, I agree!!! You have really taken these challenges to a new level! When I see 9 + pages to a challenge, it means people are really getting involved! Can't wait to see the first post!

an interesting and crucial photographic topic... I haven't participated in one of these forum challenges for a few months (knowing their potential to be a little bit addictive!) but with a bit more free time this month I hope to get involved.... only thing is, I've been waiting for the light for 3 days now and not a peep.... if Scotland shines I shall participate ... either that or I'll be getting familiar with some candles ;)
I am so glad you already dropped by, Kim and Adam. I am looking forward to the challenge, I could not wait to get started. Sorry to hear about your weather Adam.
I agree whole heartedly, Shari is doing a tremendous job of the gallery and she makes it look so easy to keep things going.
Off to get some pics taken for the occasion.
:b_tonguewink:
Well this one will be an interesting theme,..:)....Shari you are doing a grand job here, I can only echo Bruce and Piet on that note...I have my low light table lamp system that I have not tried with the new EOS as yet, so here is a dual opportunity for me :)

Thank you so much for the link from January's thread! That made my life soooooo much easier!
And the topic ... lighting! * does a little happy dance * My shutter finger is fairly itching. I'm gonna make a concerted effort to come up with something new for this month's theme. Not just a new picture ... that would be too easy! It's time to start thinking about light again, in different ways. Thanks for the challenge! :)

Piet, good job. And you not only got great backlight but you got a great shot of those jeans. Gosh, I'd love a pair (of jeans) like that!

56 sec exposure & small LED flashlight used to PAINT with LIGHT. This created the cool glow and ELECTRIFIED look! (Note EXIF data is included with file for reference)
Posted to my gallery as well (see link!)

Warm colors bathing the cathedral Tunde and Joe, that almost fluorescent glow is awesome. You tempt me now to play with the LED light again. I did a series of fun things recently, I will have to do some fun things for a change.
PJ, I love the glow of the gas flame photo... Photography on the edge huh?
Yeah yeah, Marilyn and Kathleen, all just talk, let's see the photos! :b_tonguewink:
PJ and Piet ... excellent submissions. I would also love a pair (of jeans) like that too! Just bought myself a new pair over the weekend.. they look ... well, anyway .. lol and PJ, excellent and very creative play with light. :)
.. what a great start to this challenge! Some very create stuff already! (and page 2 too!!)
I love that LED light Joe .. awesome color and very creatively done.
Yeah, Piet.. you'll have to play around again :-)
Love the lighting in that cathedral as well .. excellent stuff.

I adore the "electric" guitar! I mean, that's a double charge of current there. and that church is awesome. One of my favorite colors for lighting is deep, rich amber.
(Mom, you mean Piet plays around????)
Hey, where's Tara?

Wonderful candle shot Throbbe, so mellow looking, and Piet, very subtle use of light.
Now MrsL, my first thought was "Oh wow! how did she get an oreo cookie to do that?!?!?!" But I got it after a minute. Once I'd read your text....
: )
They say a picture is
worth a thousand words...
So where do they go when a photograph leaves you
speechless?
Actually, I played with a couple different lights.
My dog had this cool ball that when you bounced it it sparkled with red and blue lights. She of course promptly chewed it to pieces, but I snagged the little light mechanism thinking I'd try using it one of these days with the camera.
Well last night was that day! I taped it to the back of a large glass paperweight (upper right corner of the photo blurry part is my cat pulling the light and tape off the ball) turned off the overhead light and did some longish exposures. I also did some shots with a red lazer pointer (upper left, shining the light just into the ball, lower right, in and around the ball)
It was interesting to see what developed, great idea for this month's challenge!

The lighting really illustrates the point Jeroni.
Very interesting what you have done LovelyPoetess, and the methods/sources you used. Although you had a helping hand in your dog doing the preparations.
I thought you were up to no good Tara, with these landing strips for UFO's. no wait! LOL
I was working on stuff to show subtle ( ) light on objects of all shapes and sizes but I was sidetracked by Joe (thank you Joe!) to experiment with LED's. I am still working on it.
I am afraid this is becoming fun!
Ppppfffffttttt!!
I've already got three shots I can upload here, and it's only the 2nd! I'm gonna have to pace myself. What if I find something better later in the month? I know ... I'll post the really good ones out in front, and save the fun stuff for back here. LOL! (Those stove burners aren't exactly gallery material.)
You're close with the UFO thing, Piet ... this is where crop circles come from! :)
Love the mushroom ... I can't wait to see what you come up with while you're out galavanting in the middle of the night, Kathleen!
