Subject: v4 muscle morphs problem.

Just wondering if anyone can point me in the right direction here. I have some cr2 characters that I've saved, not sure which version of vicky they were created in, although with v4.2 Im not sure it matters since they all reference the same obj file correct? Anyways, I now have the muscle morphs that I would like to add to these cr2's. Now if I create a new 4.2 figure, no problem injecting the muscle morphs on that figure, they work fine. The problem is with my existing cr2's. I open one of those, and try injecting the muscle morphs but they don't show up. Does anyone have any idea whats going on here? I only have one runtime in poser, the default one, and I've installed and initialized everything. Thanks for any help!

I should also add, when I open one of my cr2's, I do not see the channels for the elite morphs or the muscle morphs. It just doesnt show up in the list of parameters. Perhaps I created these cr2s with the free vicky base, I just don't remember. If so, is there any way to update these cr2's so they have those channels?

I think this is to do with the need to initialise a V4.2 figure ready to accept morph injections, by running the post-install script that comes with each add-on product (such as Morphs++, Muscle Morphs, Creature Morphs, etc.).

Somehow you need to run that initialisation script with your own cr2 as the target. I'm at work at the moment (Poser-less) so I can't help any further until I get home (if I ever get back home today in all this snow). But by that time I am sure someone else will come up with an answer.

Hi!

V4 has over time got two different objects blMilWom_v4 and blMilWom_v4b, there have been three releases of V4 but only the latest have the ability to inject files to the character.

(If i remeber things correctly that is)

Maybe your saved characters are from the previous versions of V4?

You can use SVDL's free spawncharacter script to make injection files of your saved characters, you can then recreate your old characters using the latest version of V4.

When you run the updater, it won't affect previously saved CR2.  You may want to transfer your morphs and materials from your old versions of the figure into a new "clean" one.

You can get the morphs out of one of your old CR2s just by doing this:

  • Load a new, blank CR2 (good to do this first to be sure the figure name remains "Victoria4" for use with the Magnetize Clothing poses)
  • Zero the figure and turn off IK
  • Inject all morphs
  • Load old CR2
  • Select Body on old CR2
  • Edit menu -> Copy (this will trap all the dial values for the entire Body actor)
  • Select Body on new CR2
  • Edit menu -> Paste (this sets all the dial values on the entire Body to what you copied earlier)

Repeat this for the Head actor, and you'll have the face too.

Note that this leaves you with a lot of dial values that are zero, and which can be deleted, or you might possibly want to look into svdl's spawncharacter.py script to create a new single morph target for the combined values of all your dial spins and then delete ALL the old dials.  You don't really have to do these things though, just the file size will be larger and the figure will consume more memory when loaded.

You can transfer the materials in the Materials Room by saving a Material Collection with the entire set from the old figure, and then loading that onto the new figure.

Thanks for the help everyone, just recreating the figures shouldnt be too hard it seems, I'll probably go that route.
