Subject: Is it possible to load a bunch of morphs automatically?

eyeorderchaos ( ) posted Thu, 26 February 2009 at 10:49 AM · edited Sun, 24 November 2024 at 2:48 PM

in Poser 7,  I'm starting with a (custom) obj and have a bunch of (custom) morphs, I'd just rather not load them in one by one.   Is there an auto loading method or script ?

Use an FBM?

Attached Link: Loader

My old Loader script does this job nicely.

It was meant as a universal loader for everything, but some of the
functions didn't work after P5, when multiple runtimes were introduced.
The morph loading part still works well.

Oh, cool! Before you posted this,  I was just looking at that script from your site! Thanks David!

Thanks for the responses!
David, I have no clue how to use this as I only have the manual supplement not the manual itself.
Geep, what do you mean "use" a FBM?  You mean, turn my list (or "bunch") of morphs into a single morph to be applied all at once?  How would I do that?

Combines all existing morphs in to a single morph.

Sorry, but that makes no sense, as I'd still have to load all the morphs. I think you have misunderstood what I was asking for, Geep.
I just want to avoid the pain of loading in morph targets, in the first place. Sorry if I was a bit unclear. Thanks for the suggestion and tutorial.
Meanwhile, I still would like a good autoloading method  if there is one

PhilC's Poser Tool Box can load morphs into a prop from a modified prop. Unfortunately it's not free.

eyeorderchaos ( ) posted Thu, 26 February 2009 at 6:35 PM

Thanks for the suggestion.
And, unless I'm wrong, it still is required to have all the morphs present , in the first place. So again, I'll gain no advantage. Back to the drawing board.

raven ( ) posted Thu, 26 February 2009 at 6:52 PM

So you have a prop, and lots of separate morphs that need to go into the prop. You want a way to automate that, is that right?

momodot ( ) posted Thu, 26 February 2009 at 7:08 PM

Ockham's free script is what I use for that.

Sorry to go OT but is there a free script for transfering morphs from one figure to another in Poser rather than with Morph Manager or by editing directly the .cr2?

eyeorderchaos ( ) posted Thu, 26 February 2009 at 7:53 PM

Raven, that's correct.
momodot...how do you use that script to load a batch of morphs into a prop? I ran the script but it was not obvious to me...would you be kind enuf to provide a brief pointer or two? Thanks!

momodot ( ) posted Thu, 26 February 2009 at 8:54 PM

I can't load it for a screen shot right now but on the left toward the bottom are the import object as morph option and you can drag over to select a whole folder of .obj files in the file selection on the right... this will load the whole batch on the selected body part. It will not import FBMs though. You would have load up each body part of the prop and then dial up the morphs on the body parts to make the FBMs. You can import FBMs from .obj for each part or a single total mesh using PhilC's Poser Tool Box but that cost money and will do only one morph set at a time. I guess this is very well explained but it is the best I can do right now.

momodot, thanks, I finally got it!  For some reason, at first it (the script) wasn't allowing me to select multiple files. I doesn't like ctrl shift selection or dragging, I found out, but it finally let me select each one with a seperate click, and I knew I was home free. Thanks! Thanks yet again to Ockham for the  free scripts, saving the day!

if you have full body morphs with multiple bodyparts you want the tool collection by Dimension 3d it has a brilliant morph loader app which will do what you want.
