RJ, m'luv, I've discovered the cause of your insomnia. It's those dark beans. Stop drinking coffee all the danged time, and you might get some sleep! :)
Do NOT tell anybody I told you to stop drinking so much coffee, they'll take away my "I Live In Seattle" card. LOL!

Good to see some NEW faces pop in for the challenge! I like how people are REALLY applying this technique and sharing ideas! THIS is what a forum is all about!
Hey here's another related image posted in my gallert

I'm not really worried about your insomnia, Ronnie - it's not like you toss and turn and keep me awake all night - but I hadn't flipped you shit for more than 48 hours, and I needed my fix!
:)
Shari, I bet you've got next month's challenge all figured out and set up and ready to roll! I can't wait to see what it is. Nothing is going to EVER beat this one for my money, but I'm looking forward to more!
Great stuff, everybody!

It is more then one year old and was catched in the Berlin Technik Museum. The have wonderful old locomotives in two roundhouses, and nobody disturb you camera experiments or tell you "Don ´ t touch!" Pic was taken with my wifes big Canon with a separate flashlight. You can see it standing under the engine. This pic is part of my "Locomotive Breath" row in the main gallery.
Hope you enjoy it.
A lot of wonderful pics here, even in the last few days. A stunning content. Thanks for this beautiful theme. What a bundle of creativity here
bye, billcody, Berlin
This photo was a night shot, it's the bridge lights.
Using daylight setting, I swiveled the head of my tripod.
It kinda looks like a Dragons eye.

P.S.
It took me a moment to figure out that round blue one (above)
by mslubner .The gas stove element looks neat in that perspective.
Wow, Bill, Evie, Frank and Paul you guys are really rocking almost at the END of the challenge!
Piet (vdmpj) you did stunning work, I am still dazed here and kinda envious. It's about time I do some practical studio work again. I am also very pleased to a Renderosity link featuring on your Camera Club web site - well done, you are me hero for the day!
:b_drool:
Sorry my absence here guys, but it seems you are doing better without me! gulp
Thanks for the Piet link, Piet! (That's a bit confusing!) Despite my lack of Afrikaans, I was able to navigate around enough to see some amazing photography! Beautiful stuff.
Your conclusion that we're doing better without you is faulty, and based on no sound premise that I could discern.

well tomorrow's the last day of the month and due to my fairly busy schedule right now I don't think I'm going to be able to shoot anything new for my last entry... shame, but I wanted it to at least be as good as something in my archive..... hope you like this one from France last summer, taken in the garden of the villa in which we were staying... I see it as a reminder of the stunning warm provencal light which bathed the place each day during the late afternoon/ early evening.... I seem to remember I tried a few still life shots with the light but probably had too much vino in the system as none of them are of any use!
no light painting, introduced light or dodging/burning at all on this.. just levels, curves, sharpen, crop. right, now I must get back to my big list of things which need doing but I await a final few lighting entries and the arrival of the new challenge with anticipation ;)
Adam
More wonderful images! I just love it here.
Shari, I hope you will post a comment here with a link when you put up your new challenge for March, so we all get an e-bot! That worked great for me last month, and I think for several others, as well. Excellent participation for February! :)

Absolutely, a lot of PWL showed up in many members posts, as this challenge was in full swing, and you are right about the educational roll this has played, I had not even thought about painting with light, until this subject was triggered by this thread, I think we should all give Shari a big round of applause.
Hey Shari do you know what?
If we got all the members that participated in this challenge to whisper well done, the noise would be deafening :)

Awwwwwwww :) lol you always make my day Ronnie -- thank you!!!!
jeez, where do I begin: first I want to say .. I AGREE whole heartedly, that 1) I'm sad to see this challenge come to an end and 2) I think we all learned a great deal with use of light in Photography. I know I did, speaking for myself, and I dont plan to stop practicing anytime soon either. I continue to play and I hope all of you will, too. And 3) all the applause should go to all of you ... who participated in this challenge, and the fun, silliness and friendship to go along with it, was the cherry on top.
Special thanks to Ronnie, Tara and Piet ... the heartbeats of this forum.
Auntie -- I will have Piet put up that link for us again. :-)

phew! I've just caught up on what seems to have been a fun, creative and busy month here.. that whole language lesson had me chuckling and it seems I'm in good company as a bit of a night owl at the moment..!
I'd personally like to say well done to everyone who this month tried something new and unfamiliar, coming up with such impressive results... I'm talking really about getting to grips with PWL which so many of you seem to 'have down' (is that an Americanism?) by now. Too many good images to mention them all, but redchilicat's swan in the glinting water and Maria's light painted images spring to mind as real eye catchers. Not a single bad submission though, a pleasure to browse through such a diverse display of the topic... eager to see what next month's is now!
...but! Febraury isn't over yet and I'm with Tara when she says we still need people to still be posting at the end of the month =D I've got 1 left and said on my last upload I'd try to make it an outdoors one, only there hasn't been the opportunity lately. I've got a good backup on standby from my archives but will try to shoot something 'fresh' in time for the end of the month...
in the meantime maybe you'd like a little peek at my latest effort painting with light which comes with a warning it may cause hunger!
