Don't forget to spring ahead one hour before you go to bed on Saturday. Time change takes effect  at 2am Sunday.

Indiana didn't used to do the dreaded DST, but now we do... less sleepytime for the Captain this Monday. sigh

I have no idea why this stupid idea is still around.  Every year they start it earlier and end it later.  Eventually it is going to get to the point were standard time is only going to last a month or two and it is a chore I can do without.

Dang, and I have to teach Sunday  School and get up an hour earlier on Sunday anyway. Looks like bed 2 hours early on Saturday night. :(

Thanks for the heads-up Acadia.

So we move the same amount of daylight to a different part of the day, and one hour of darkness to the other end of the year. Where does the saving come in?

Come to think of it, what does "saving" mean these days? My partner came home and said, Look Izi, I saved £20 on this gorgeous dress. It was only £99.

Sweetheart, I replied, you didn't save £20, you spent 99. But you look great in the dress.

My ex-wife always used a similar kind of logic. When she'd buy something, I'd ask how much it was. She'd reply something like, "10% off". With her, it was never about the amount, it was about the savings.

Arizona must be the only sane state in the union....
BUT WAIT .... who would want more daylight later in Arizona? Its so damn hot you can't wait for the sun to go down so it cools a bit.

Geep is right ... down here on the Valley floor it gets blistering but it's always nice to take a run up to Payson or Flagstaff or Sedona.

I believe it had to do with Farmers and Growing Season.

I agree 100%, how can you say you saved 20 pounds when you spent 99 pounds.
I suppose I could say, I saved 99 pounds today, I didn't buy thar sale item.

Nuther Zonie here.  Yay, glad I don't have to mess with that stuff.
I have about a dozen clocks in the house, counting the ones on
the VCR, DVD, TV, microwave, cell phone, computer, etc.
Plus a whole bunch at work.  For something called "Savings"
just think of all the time people waste having to reset all the
clocks in their house and at work.

Does this mean the scene I have under construction that is modeled for 6pm, if I don't get it finished by Saturday night I have go back and change the light intensity on Sunday???

Or should I drive to Arizona, render it there and then drive back home?

i applied for a job in Cottonwood. Unfortunately, they didn't hire me.
My daughter has lived in Phoenix for quite a few years, so we make a trip out there at least once a year, usually in August, so we can enjoy the wonderful sun :)

Its actually pretty chilly out in the desert after the sun sets. Its amazing how cold 90 can feel after you're in 110 + all day :)

Don't forget those clocks!

I just got home from work and the first thing I did after feeding Chynna (my kitty), is go and change the time on all of my clocks, with the clock radio being first!

I really wish they would make up their mind and pick a time and stick with it!  If springing ahead is so good, then why not leave it that way all year long instead of going back and forth.

Who was the idiot who dreamed up this stuff anyway?

I think it was Howdy Doody.
I could have sworn I heard Bob Smith in my head this morning when I woke up signing,

"Say Poser Addicts, what time is it?
It's Howdy Doody Time!
It's Howdy Doody Time!!..."

If you have to ask who Howdy Doody is, you're too young to be here in the first place!
