Sorry to hear that Connie; hopefully it's just a blip in Tigger's improvement.

Mrs. B is feeling rather sad this morning.  One of the earliest frogs she introduced into our garden as a tadpole has died.  He (or she; I'm not too good at sexing frogs!), succumed to old age, the hard winter and stupidity.  For five or six years now we have tried to make this frog hibernate in either the pond or the compost heap, but he instisted on returning to an old bucket!  Mind you, he had a bit of a death wish as he would tease our part-Van ginger cat.  The cat would catch him and bring him to us as he wasn't quite sure what to do with it lol.

Still working on the good thoughts for you and Tigger 😄

CardinalBiggles I am really sorry to hear of your frog loss! We had 2 last spring that took up residance under our back steps(*slow leak from the swamp cooler made it a mud quamire, rare in the desert). When winter came we tried to encourage them to stay in a straw box that would insulate them from the 20 degree chills at night (*and day) but they keep sitting on the porch steps.... one day about 2 months back, there they were frozen dead. Maybe all frogs have secret death wishes? We have 3 cats and a dog... those frogs never understood the peril either. Let Mrs.B know we are sorry the garden frogs are gone.  :(

Hi Connie, Here's hoping that Tigger is happy and perky again! Let us know when you get up and around...

I'm off for some coffee!

Hugs and Love to the faithful, and Tigger and Connie!!!!

Tigger is pretty low key today.
She peed. Not in the litterbox this time, but it's all caught in diaper and liners, no no big mess.
She ate a bit on her own very early this morning, and is holding down a tube feeding right now. She's looking a bit punky though. Her head isn't popping up at every sound, instead she's curled up and 'supervising'.

When she comes out of her cubby, I'll take her outside for a bit.

We're ever so sorry to hear that Tigger isn't feeling so well.  Love and hugs to Tigger, you et al; we are thinking about and praying for you all.

All our cats are lined up on the shed roof in a patch of sun complaining that we aren't turning up its heat lol.  Mrs. B is going to be very popular though, she's lighting a fire which we have been doing without for the last few days (we don't have central heating).  When they discover this, all personal rivalries will be set aside as they all snuggle down on the hearth.  They moan if we don't light it, but as they don't pay for the coal or chop the wood that's their tough luck!

:(  puking today, and drooling some. She was doing so good few days ago. I hope this will blow over.
She did want to go outside, and we spent about an hour out there. After I brought her in she was puking, well, more like dry heaving.  She's very mad at me right now for bringing her inside the house and cleaning her up after a puke.
She wants to be outside more, but I don't have a spot where I can leave her for a while, and have her be safe, and not wonder off.
I'm feeling like crap today myself, lot of dizziness. Maybe it's the minor heat wave we're having.

Connie, I don't want to scare you, so just be positive, but listen. Cats don't like to show when they are in pain or ill. Their impulse is to hide. Go away... you know? Maybe going out isn't a great idea, perhaps a window where the sun can come in. Watch the screen too!! So keep a close eye on your baby over the next few days, put a tad more water in her food to keep her hydrated (*so important) and see what your vet says. Shouldn't she have that tube out soon? Eating on her own is always best, imvho, but I am not her vet either.

I will think very high energy thoughts for Tigger and her recovery. You also. Hugs to you both...

Love

Whew, whatever was bugging her earlier seems to have settled down some. Still not as alert and lively as she was couple of days ago, but no more puking this afternoon/evening, and she's holding her food down, and no more drooling.

When she went outside today, she wasn't hiding. She walked right outside the back yard to the common area, and plopped herself right in the middle of the lawn, into filtered sunshine, and proceeded to watch our back side neighbor do her gardening, and watching hummingbirds. I sat with her in the grass for about an hour. I don't dare to leave her alone there.

At first I tried putting her in the back yard, in a spot that she likes, which is still a bit sunny and pretty secluded, but nope, she went out right in the middle of things... rather then into a hiding spot.

Looking pretty comfy right now.

Conniekat8 ( ) posted Mon, 02 March 2009 at 9:48 PM

She held her lunch and breakfast down today.

I cam home today... and there's this little black kitty waiting for me in the middle of the condos common area, sitting in the grass.   GASP

I guess between my honey and my stepson neither noticed that the dog broke through the den door, and that Tiggers got out, and through the hallway and the living room, and past the small back yard, around the side of the house and settled in the middle of the grass. I freaked out.

I don't mind her going outside in itself, but when she manages to sneak under the fence and into the common area, there's nothing to protect her, and in this condition, she's pretty helpless if a dog or something else gives her a chase... I hope she pooped and peed while she was out.

I picked her up and she was all purrs and snuggles and hungry. Snoozing and looking VERY comfy now. No signs of pukies.

Maybe she figured out that I was gearing up to take her to the vet on a saturday if she was feeling good, but last two saturdays were her bad days. ;)

Glad that Tigger is feeling better and also glad that nothing bad happened when she got out :)  When I had read your latest bulletin to Mrs. B, our Grizelda went 'Wheeeeee', we think in aproval of Tigger's feistyness!  Cats do their own thing, unlike dogs who do what they're told.  We do understand your concern though, been through similar things ourselves.

Hope the vet visit on Saturday brings good news.

Thanks everyone.
Yes, she about gave me a heart attack yesterda.... Actually, the way she was sitting in the middle of the lawn looking at me like, mom blink, what exactly are you doing ..... as I was looking for her in hidden spots.

She's doing quite well today.  When I came home she was sitting up looking lik shadownet's avatar!  Took her out for a tree-scratch when I got home, and instead of walking in the grass, she wanted to climb on my head, and purr and snuggle. You know, that 'It's been so long' kind of an intense purr and snuggle.

She puked a little after dinner. I think the feeding tube is bothering her a bit and causing it. She's snoozing and digesting what's left of the dinner now. I think I'll be giving her another feeding in couple of hours before I go to sleep.

Somebody is ferrociously hungry today.
Not only is she eating on her own, she's pigging out. Eating enough to almost make a full meal, crunching down on couple dry pieces with energy too. Last month or two she seemed to weak to crunch down on dry treat.
If she keeps that up, and eatch enopugh on her own to sustain herself, she's on her way to getting rid of the feeding tube... and/or getting fit for the surgery.
How exciting!!!

Oh, yeah, ... she's now sticking her nose in my dinner too  LOL

Wow, I was afraid the way she was chowing down it might be too much and cause her little tummy to rebel just from over indulging.  This is great news!

Conniekat8 ( ) posted Thu, 05 March 2009 at 12:06 PM

I was concerned about that too...
I'm more and more convinced that a lot of her puking is because of the feeding tube... like a gag reflex or something similar.

Another thing, she has a tumor at the base of her tail (on her tail) that is similar shape as the one ion her liver, and was similar size as what they measured on the ultrasound on her liver. Tumor on her tail was pretty solid and tight when all this started. Like a 1.5 cm pebble under her skin. I gave it a good feel yesterday, and it's a lot looser and feels a lot smaller.

I'm hoping the same is happening in her liver and is giving us time to take it out before it grows bigger and plugs up her bile duct again.

Oh, exactly. Very good point!
She ate again today, (not a full meal, but quite a bit), then I took her outside, for a tree scratch... and she peed. Instead of just walking off when she was done, she spent a minute fussing around trying to bury it (showing more energy). There wasn't much to bury, cause she peed in the grass. LOL

And, she's been vocalizing, mrring and meowling a bit last couple of days when she wants my attention. She's been silent for a long time. I get excited whenever I notice theese little bitty signs of improvement.

She hasn't started cleaning herself yet (that I noticed). That'll be another little milestone.

Not an all together unexpected setback.   I feel like that every thanksgiving - after chowing down on everything in sight.  I think after not having really eaten well for so long, when she finally did poor kitty had eyes way bigger than her tummy.

She ate again on her own this morning, with little more moderation... about a third of a meal.

I've been following this thread about your beautiful Tigger kitty.  A  thought just popped into my head to mention this.  Massaging her head by the base of her ears, and gently putting  your thumb along the inside of her ear with your index finger on the outside and gently pulling up along the ear might help her tummy feel better.  Or help her appetite be better.

Hope that helps.  Meanwhile I've been sending her Reiki, a healing energy.

The only thing I don't procrastinate is procrastinating. That I do right away.

Well the news continues to be good and that is waaay good!  As for the other, well live and learn.  If only she would learn to speak people then she could tell you what the problem was.  Its not that cats can not speak people.  Its just they find it beneath them to bother.  Human's don't learn to speak cat very well, but some of us do pick up a few words.   Enough to carry on a halfway casual conversation.  Like how's the weather?  But beyond that, i don't think our tongues and throats are made for it.  I remember trying to discuss quatum physics with my cat... and well the looks she gave me, it was obvious I had a very poor volcabulary command of the language.  Not to mention a very bad accent!  :O)

magicmoondesigns ( ) posted Sat, 07 March 2009 at 3:07 PM

Who's a clever Tigger!  Best purrs from our cats to Tigger.

We have frogspawn!  It's obviously more spring than we realised.  Griselda is in her summer pattern of following bees about watching them.  Her purrs to Tigger are just a trifle distracted, but that's cats for you lol.

Conniekat8 ( ) posted Sun, 08 March 2009 at 10:23 PM · edited Sun, 08 March 2009 at 10:25 PM

You guys, I bet all this rooting for Tiggers is paying off. All the good wishes and purrs and thinking about her.
She's having a good weekend.

Saturday, instead of carrying her outside, she god down off the desk down her little kitty stairs, and stood in front of the front door for me to open it and let her go outside. Instead of a tree, she had a good scratch on the doormat, then sat in the grass, and basked in the sun for a while.

Today she did the same, but twice, once in the morning, then again later in the afternoon.

She's eating on her own a bit, but still not to make it a full meal. I think the tube is bugging her. Last couple days she's taken to pacing... there's one bed/basket on the far left side of my desk (under a 'heat' lamp - a 100W bulb), and then her cubby on my right. About every half an hour she waddles from one side over to the other.

She was looking so comfortable in the basket under the heat lamp before I went to bed last night, that I didn't want to move her... In the morning, she was sitting at the foot of the bed in the bedroom, in the laundry pile. She couldn't get up on the bed and into her cubby on her own...  She used to do that when I don't take her to the bedroom at night, she'd come on her own... or more often sit in a hallway and meowl till I would get out of bed to come and get her..  Moving her from one place to another doesn't make her puke any more

It's good to see her start moving around a bit more!!!!!  She's not purring much this weekend... maybe she's working on another poopy.
