I have Poser 7.0.4.220 .

This is one of my frogman with rebreather models. In it, his breathing set (rebreather) is parented to the man's chest, and in the breathing set the two round objects (the big one is the canister and the small one is the blowoff valve) which are on his breathing bag are children of his breathing bag. In those two parts, translate-Y and translate-Z are un-hiddened, and the translate-Y and translate-Z each has the "slave's chain" (valueOpDeltaAdd //  Figure 2 // BODY:2 // inflate_all_sl // deltaAddDelta 0.005000 ) to let a master parameter dial in the rebreather's BODY move those parts when inflating his breathing bag. I made this model in Poser 4 times and it worked OK then. (The breathing bag is on the front of his chest.)

But today I used that model under Poser 7. When I moved the frogman, the canister and the blowoff both stayed still and did not move with the frogman.

I tried deleting the "slave's chain" and re-hiddening the translates, using a text editor and saving the result in new .CR2 files, and the trouble persisted.

I then did this:

Load the frogman. Select his canister. All its rotates and translates were 0. (Note, it is a direct child of his breathing bag,) I typed ctrl-C to save the canister's parameter dial settings in the clipboard.

I selected the man's BODY and moved the frogman. The canister and the blowoff stayed behind as usual.

I selected the canister. Its rotates and translates still all read 0, although the canister's parent had moved and the canister had not moved.

I rendered (in Poser 4 mode): the fault  remained.

I selected the canister. I typed ctrl-V to re-load the saved parameter dial settings back into the canister as on the screen, only in the canister. The canister AND THE BLOWOFF both immediately flew to their correct positions on his breathing bag.

Please, what is happening?

The canister AND THE BLOWOFF both immediately flew to their correct positions on his breathing bag, as in this render.

Some system oddity. I did not submit a blank message.

This is a well-known problem in P7, but it's still somewhat
mysterious.  Attached props don't always stay attached.

In some cases it seems to happen when Point-At is used; I've
solved it sometimes by removing the 'center of mass' things from the CR2.

A lot of the time a reboot helps solve the problem. As Ockham said it's a known bug. I usually call it "Poser Fatigue" as it's prone to happen if you've let Poser stay open for too long :)

You just can't put the words "Poserites" and "happy" in the same sentence - didn't you know that? LaurieA
Using Poser since 2002. Currently at Version 11.1 - Win 10.

By "reboot" do you mean "save the Poser job and stop it and restart it"?

Just now I started my Poser 7 and at once loaded this frogman model and moved him, and his rebreather's canister and blowoff valve did not move with him. So, I selected the canister, and by clicking the parameter dial and typing I changed its yRotate from 0.000 to 0.001 - and his canister and blowoff flew to their correct places. Then I changed the yRotate back to 0 : OK.

If I select his hip and call "drop to floor", the canister and blowoff move correctly with him.

I moved him, and his blowoff and canister did not move with him, and then I called "drop to floor", and he dropped to floor, and his canister and blowoff flew to their correct places.

Earlier, much looking through his .CR2 file with a text editor found nothing wrong.

(These three look ready to sort out the culprit next time he goes swimming or boating.)

"ctrl-D"  'drop to floor'...this reattaches the props for me.  Perhaps 'reattach' is incorrect.  Maybe it 'reseats' them, as the parenting is still there.

I just now started my Poser 7 and at once loaded 3 copies of this frogman, and moved them all, and their absorbent canisters and blowoff valves stayed still. When I selected one of them (the man, not his kit), and moused "drop to floor" in the menu, his canister and blowoff (and not the other two men's) reseated.
