My number is 54, Feb 12, 1999, but I joined the original forum back in 1998, sometime around or before the release of Poser 3.

I'm no Lurker, I just use my newer accounts these days. I Started using Bryce 4 & Poser 4 back in 1999 and first joined the Bryce Forum on Delphi where I found out about the Poser Forum. Back then I was going by JaxomSteve. My attention got grabbed my online gaming in the form of DAoC and I left for a while. When I came back to PFO now Rendo after the fallout wars in 2001, I created this account since the old one didn't transfer. Spent about 3 months here then went back to Gaming and didn't return again til March of 2004 with a new screen name which is the one I currently use most of the time. You might call me a little Lost and Spacey.

So it looks like 'Larry F' and 'Keith', both tied at Feb 12th '99 so far?

Again, some do have lower member numbers, (like Pinto & Miss Nancy) but later signup dates.

Perhaps the member numbers were assigned only when we actually first entered stuff on our homepages?

Based on a small sample of low userids, that seems to be the earliest date (and perhaps because there was a batch of users imported, there are quite a few with that date).

I am one of those people who usually lurks - unless I have something useful to say. After I got burned in the early 80's on alt.sf-lovers on usenet I seldom joined forum conversations.

I did a search on my hard drive to see what the oldest poser freebie was which I ever downloaded.
It is Poser 3 poses - RockstarPoses.zip from Daniel "DD" Nichols file dates 14 feb 1999

I don't think so.   I was just a regular PFO member when I signed up here two months earlier.   But there do seem to be a lot of members with the April 16th '99 date, so something must have happened on that day. 

Did both sites coexist for a while before the original PFO closed and before Willow re-opened her subsequent sites?

With further poking, I just noticed another oddity.   

Prior to ‘Nance’ I had used the nick ‘Floydd’ here, (which was my nick at PFO).  I was hoping to see when I’d signed up here using that member name.  Unfortunately, my ‘Floydd’ nick has been purged from the members list (as inactive?), however there are still posts here that I made while using that nick. 

The odd part is that in viewing the posts from ‘Floydd’ dating back to August 17, 1999, (the second oldest post I could find by anyone btw?) those posts display Floydd’s signup date as April 20, 2004 – over five years after those posts were actually made.

Wooh!   Let’s all do the Time Warp!  

I’m guessing that perhaps 2004 may be the date that my long inactive ‘Floydd’ nick was purged from the members list?

I remember lurking here when it was Poser Forum also. It was cool hearing some of the names from back then, I hadn't thought of them in years. I did find some Poser stuff on my HD dated back to 96 and I was trying to find my first Poser pic but the disc couldn't be read. As you can see, it was several years before I rediscovered Poser again, by then I was member #21218. I should have signed up right from the start! edit: BTW, I wanted to thank you Trekkie for starting this thread, it was fun going down memory lane!

I've been here before 2004 I think, different user name prob 2002 , or 3. How long ago was it when rendo changed the basic interface, forums, etc. I remember all the wailing, grinding of teeth, and the maligning of peoples parentage  when that happened. Just love drama lol. I can remember playing around with poser 4 when it was still with metacreations , and daz3d was zygote. I still have a few poser apps from the zygote days. Amazed at all the changes here, and software

I don't believe I ever saw a post by Willow or Grey since this site became Renderosity.   They had another PFO for a while but that disappeared years ago and I haven't heard anything from either of them ever since. 

Does anyone know anything about Lannie?  I remember she had a site with lots of freebies and Poser links but, sadly, had to close it down.

I was a member in the summer or fall of 99, back when I had a Dial Up ISP that went under the following year (I had paid for three years up front.. was so piqued that I lost that money). I can not even remember my Handle.. I thought it was PackRat and for years thought that, but I just looked up PackRat and none of those are me.... . I remember I was under 1000. It was in 2002 or early 2003  that I stopped using Poser for a bit and sort of fell off the forum (I was still using Poser 3).. came back in 2004 as ratscloset when I got Poser 5 for work and reactivated my accounts or created new ones. Eventually, I switched all to ratscloset, though I think I still have one or two out there that are PackRat, since that is another one I used.

Willow isn't going to check in. Willow didn't like Poser, or Poser people, just liked being the center of attention as long as she could hang in there.
Which wasn't long, apparently, judging by how quickly she collapsed after the rug was pulled out from under her, and how little effort she went through to maintain. Which was no effort at all, actually - she cast off the Poser world like a bad case of fleas, because, in the end, we were all as bad as the other forces which brought her down, and fully worthy of the same disrespect.
