Subject: Michael's Beard Face Maps: Anyone Purchased them? How do they work?

I'm Interested in this kind of products (Michael's Beard Face Maps from DAZ and Catharina Przezak's Beards textures for Tomy) in order to make Michael based characters more different from each other. I need to know from someone who got them if they are Photoshop layers that I can use on different head textures (changing colors in a paint software) or if they are only copies of Tomy and Michael default DAZ head with different beard maps pasted on them. If so does someone know where to find facial hair texture or base material to create this kind of effect.

I have both and have found them to be more than satisfactory in creating beards. The Michael version also has MTs that allow you to create the sense of a larger beard (by extending the chin and jaw), and those work far better than I anticipated. Insofar as your Photoshop question, sorry to report, but they are indeed painted on the default head, and it would be tough transferring them to another head texture. My suggestion? Look at how it was done, and then learn to create it yourself.

Thanks very much for your answer! If I had to pick one, which would you suggest me to buy? Catharina Przezak's Beards seem more realistic but DAZ set look more versatile... I think that is why you purchased both... Staby

I got both because I got the Michael bundle that included them. Catharina's textures came later. Needless to say, her work is easier to deal with and far more photographic-looking. It just depends on need, more than anything else.

Thanks again, I will think about it!
