It's not too late, check out Robert Menard's lectures on youtube as quick as you can, they might be able to help you keep your house & remove the debt hanging over your head, but you have to be quick. I've got my fingers crossed for you.

This goes for anyone else who has a mortgage & faces losing their job in the near future too.

Ouch man!, That's not good. Wish you all the luck you need.
I've lost my job twice but social security in Holland was(!) the best in the world, so I never got so far that I had to lose my house, allthough last time was a narrow escape.
I hope you can work things out because I hate to see you go.

Good luck,

Bopper.

Good luck and best of fortune, Pat.  Last year I lost everything I own except for what ever I could pack into my van.  I was homeless for three months.  It almost killed me, but I'm back.

What ever happens...you aren't the only one out there going through that awful crap!  There are mechanisms to help if you find them.  You'll be in my prayers, man.  You are a friend and I hate for you to go through this kind of crap.

On the weird up-side with me--if I hadn't been evicted, I'd be dead AND without everything I own.  My ex-apartment house was completely destroyed by an EF4 tornado, last Friday. At leat I got to relocate under my own power and save SOMETHING (my pc's and some art I did), where as otherwise I'd be 10 x worse off and/or dead or critically injured in a hospital like some of my ex-neighbors.

Look for whatever up sides there might be (if any) and I REALLY hope that you have a smoother and better time of it than I did. I'll see you when you get back. You're too tough a SOB to let you get it get you to down! It's clobbering time, go kick some ass if you can.

My Karma ran over their dogma and kicked it to the curb. The world IS a weird and wacky place. If I can make it through the same kind of crap that Pat is going through, he should be fine.

I only hope it's a quicker than my time in the cement mixer.

sorry to hear it, pat.  the lending institution may be persuaded to negotiate, but first, call up as many elected representatives as possible (above the town or city level).  some of them, depending upon one's jurisdiction, can put an extreme amount of pressure on said lending institution almost immediately.

Amen to that!

Through the help of family,  friends and fellow parishioners,  I was able to send the lawyers the money to get reinstated.

Now I'm gonna be pretty busy and won't be able to frequent the forums here.  See,  in this depression my parish has kinda gone to the barter system.  So,  I got 6 toilets to install,  8 ceiling fans to clean,  2 showers to install and a boat load of windows to weather proof,  not to mention all the vegetable gardens to plant.  lol.

Anyways,  thank you all again for the prayers and words of encouragement and in appreciation look for many more freebies.

Take care all.

It means that he was able to reinstate the mortgage by paying off what he owed, plus fees and costs.  So now he no longer is in foreclosure and he once again is in good standing with his mortgage payments.

Here is some information on the process.

http://www.savemefromforeclosure.com/reinstateloantostopforeclosure.php

I assume that since he has mentioned that he now has a good deal of work to do, the he was able to barter for the funds with his church parish and family.

A screwing post-poned is better than an immediate ass-raping by the bank and those guys.
I hope you can get ahead and stay there,Pat!

the bank tried to screw my bro...he has a house valued at $300k+. He owed 80K.
Had the misfortune of a ton of medical bills to the tune of 250,000. He was having problems paying for everything. House up for forclose. The bank wouldn't even try to work things out. Why? They already had a couple of people willing to buy the place for over 200K. What a screw job.

You may qualify for  for Obama's newly passed mortgage refinancing program.

If you have a mortgage and want to find out if you qualify for lowered interest rates, call your lender and find out if your account was sold to either Fannie Mae or Freddie Mac. It should be a quick and easy refinance that will give you a lower monthly payment.

this sort of thing sucks big time, ordinary hardworking joes  get took to the cleaners and the high-ups in the banks trouser huge bonuses for screwing up the economy.
the banks have been bailed out with billions of £'s and $'s and they still will not help those ordinary people to keep their homes by giving a bit of leeway or lend to small businesses whose cashflow has stalled due to the banks screwing everything up.
i consider my self very lucky in that when my father passed on the insurance payed the mortgage off on our home.( although in would sooner have him around still)
the worst thing about all this  is that the ordinary taxpayer is footing the bill for all this, and will be paying it by way of increased taxes and decreased services for years to come.

Maybe you should go down in person to the bank and see if they will work out another payment plan for you, They might not want to forclose on you as much as you don't want them to, they may work out something like maybe allow you to take out another morgage or reduce you're payments, I am sure they want thier money and rather work something out then just take you're house away, but good luck that is a bad situation to be in.

Do you happen to have a link or something on that by any chance?  We have a Freddie Mac loan and we are trying to negotiate with our mortgage servicer, but they have not mentioned a word about anything like that.
