i have a hair prop. i have the main hair and a seperate curl. if i now import this in poser then the curl and scalp hair is combined together.  can i import it like a human figure where you can click seperate parts?
for example the with a human figure you can make the head invisible. can i import this the same with a hair prop?

Sounds like what you want to do is make the hair into a figure.

I believe this is coved in the manual or you can go find a tutorial online.

Here a re couple I found in the tutorial section of this forum

Creating Poser characters, http://www.rubicondigital.110mb.com/Code/Figures.html

Make a Refrigerator Figure, http://www.cocs.com/poser/makingfigure1.htm

Other options include importing the parts into Poser individually or setting the hair up with different material zones for the different parts that can the be made completely transparent to hide the part.

if i make it into a figure can i then parent it on the head and save it as a hair?

i remember a year a go i had a hair prop that was having a ''neck'' part .

All the “Hairs” that I’ve ever seen with neck parts were conforming figures loaded from the Figures Library and then conformed to the figure.

Hairs (Items in the Hair Libraries) are specialized props.  They are by default a single item that is smart parented to the head.

You can hack other things to be in the Hair library.  You can put a figure into the Hair library by changing its file extension outside of Poser to HR2 from CR2 and moving the file to Hair Library, but it would still be a figure and need to be parented or conformed.

Or you can change the file extension on a collection of props (PP2 to HR2) and move it to the hair library.  You could further edit the file with a text editor or Poser file editor so that all the parts would smart parent to the head.

Personally I would just make it a conforming figure and save it in the figures library like many people do.  Or if you’re not up to making a conforming figure just make it a regular figure that needs to be parented.

what if i save the main hair as a hair prop(hair folder). the curl i could save as a prop.
so the main hair is parented on the head. the curl would be parented to the main hair. so i need to load first the main hair and then the curl.

i would need to save the curl as a ''smart prop '' right? that way it would be parented and would always load no matter how the figure is posed?

That will work
