Subject: So here's a weird question, but does anyone know what I did to get this effect?

ok... so a long time ago, I made this image. I REALLY like the way that the cartoon tones came out. So sense then I have uninstalled and reinstalled poser 6, and now I'm trying to recreate the effect, but I can't seem to get it... I am pretty sure that the toon colors were determined in a color ramp node, and I can get the same effect with blurred boundaries, but I can't seem to duplicate the crisp boundaries that I had in this pic... I can't remember what I did!

Does anyone have any ideas?

Thanks!

Have you checked out the Material Room Bookmarks thread stuck at the top of the forum? There is a whole section in there on comics.  Maybe the answer will be in there?

Hmmm, no luck. None of these get the four colors in. They just have one color and one shade color. The only one the looked promising linked back to RDNA, which, of course, is down.

Thanks tho

ah, found another copy of the rdna one, and it doesn't do the four colors either. Any more help? I'm desperate to recreate this...

theres a toonid in the base shader that I think draws black lines between different colors.

Ahha! I found it! It was all in the specular nodes :D

Can you elaborate on that, please? As in: show us a shader, perhaps? I for one am incredibly curious as to how you accomplished that... it looks really professional!

Ah, it's not perfected yet, I'm still working on getting the lines right, but I'll post when I finish them :D
