To clarify, the dynamic cloth plugin is part of D|S for free.  It's the Control Plugin, which lets you modify parameters such as gravity, wind, fabric, etc., which is free for 30 days.

If you're a Mac user don't waste your time, the plug-in is Win only.
Daz is trying to persuade the cloth engine's developer to create a Mac version though, but don't hold your breath.

mishamcm, I will still be able to use my free tablecloth from DAZ even if I don't buy the Plugin?  Or do you need the Control Plugin to access the Dynamic Clothing tab?

Yes, you can use the free tablecloth with the plugin that's included in D|S, you don't need to buy the Control Plugin.

OK, Thanks.  The dynamic action of that tablecloth is a pretty cool thing!

I ain't no Daz Studio expert, but I can definitely say that it was easy enough to drape the free tablecloth onto another prop ( in my case, the stairs which I imported from my Poser default runtime).

Did it with DAZ Studio no problem.  Nice and easy.

Thing is, you need the content to be supplied to you.

You can't just up and model something in a modelling app and hope to import it into DAZ Studio, than prep it for a cloth simluation.  It is just different from the Poser case.

DAZ is in the process of making that happen.

Hello everyone, I have been keen to have a go using this "Dynamic Cloth Control" but with no such luck. I must be doing something wrong or have the wrong materials... as I cannot get anything to appear in the "Garment" tab. All I get is "no cloth items were active" everytime I drape V4.

I cannot even find anywhere that actually shows me how to get this feature running. Is this feature only available in one version of DAZ3D?

Any help with this problem I have will be dearly welcomed....

Do you actually hae any of the OptiTex cloth? Thisisn't a tool for using Poser-style clothing OBJs, it requires specially made clothing models which specify how they are made from pieces of fabric - there's atablecloth, which was free, and a set of outfits for Victoria 4 so far. Adding some kind of support for clothifying arbitary objects is on the to do list, but not yet done.

Be sure you have a dynamic item selected in the scene before trying to drape and so on.
