Subject: Muscle morphs... Please, you gotta help me out...

szabolcs85 ( ) posted Sat, 09 May 2009 at 3:18 PM · edited Sun, 02 February 2025 at 11:07 AM

Dear community, I have a big problem, and I seek help.

Let me illustrate it to you...

On the first pic, there is a standard Victoria 4.2 whom we all know and whom we all love, with the sports bra from the basic wear-set.

And...

On the second half of the pic, there is the same Victoria, with the "massive" muscle-type set to 0,1.

Question is, how do I make the clothes follow the morph? Please help, any advice is appreciated.

Sincerely,
Szabolcs85

does the basicwear stuff have those morphs ? if not then you are going to have to do a bit of dial spinning to get them to fit properly.  Either that or get something like Morphing Clothes and inject the muscle morphs into the basicwear

No, the basicwear doesn't have those morphs. That would make things a lot easier...

The difficult but cheap way is to use magnets or the morphing tool if you have poser7, the easy but expensive way is to buy the muscle magnet set of DAZ, which makes it possible to add muscle morphs to any kind of clothing.

best regards,

Bopper.

Edit: Oh, FrankT also mentioned morphing clothes of dimension3D, which is the best solution. (I overlooked that!)

PhilC's Wardrobe Wizard does the same thing and is the one that i use myself. I just last night made a very muscular V4 character and converted the V4 bodysuit to fit her complete with muscles.

another option in Poser is to load the basicwear obj and run it through the cloth room for a "shrink fit" using the cloth simulation.

I tried to used the magnets, but... ...this is what happened... I don't know. What have I done wrong?

I'm thinking about using Morphing Clothes. I had it a while back and it worked well, but I have lost it when my computer succumbed to a bunch of viruses a while ago. I guess I'll have to buy it again.

As for Morphing Clothes, it is indeed good to transform one morph from one figure to another. But the problem is that muscle morphs are NOT parts of the original V4.2 figure, they have to be loaded separately onto the V4.2 figure. So how will I use Morphing Clothes? How will I insert those morphs?

Damn. Making a few adjustments on a V4 figure and making the clothes fit. It sounds so easy, but I've been trying to cope with the problem for such a long time and nothing's happening...

And my lack of a proper knowledge of English make matters even more difficult.

If you have the morphs for V4, you can insert them in clothes with Morphing Clothes.  You load a version of V4 you want to use as the source before transferring.  Just load the morphs into V4, name and save, then use that object as the source in Morphing Clothes.

You could try copy and paste from the edit menu, it works with some clothing items but not with others.
That's the cheap alternative that I would try first before buying anything.

Have you tried the "Thickness" morph in the clothing?  That sometimes hides pokethrough like this.

If you already bought it then you have a licence to use it, contact the author, he may allow you to download it again for free.

The magnet will only affect those parts of an actor that are with in the Mag Zone, parts close to the edge of the Zone will be affected less (you can change this

It looks like you have the whole top covered by the Zone. Try covering only the back with the Zone, but scale it so it is quite deep and wide, then select the Mag and pull it back. When the back looks OK, load another magnet and position the Zone to cover the straps, lift the Mag up, and perhaps zScale it a bit, till the straps look right, if needed use another one or more magnets on the front and sides. In other words, don't expect to do everything at once with only one magnet. When everything looks right, spawn a morph, then save the magnets to a Props pallet using "Select Subset" to include all the Mags Bases And Zones, then delete the magnets from the top, and apply your new morph.

When a Mag Zone covers more than one actor, in your case these are likely to be the abdomen and collars, it may be necessary to use "Add Element to Deform" from the magnets Properties, to include these actors.

There is a good tutorial on using magnets at PhilC's site "Morphs & Magnets". You may find "MirrorMags32" useful for work like this, and the help files have a lot of links to magnet tutorials. Whilst MM32 is not hard to use, I do recommend that you learn the basics of using magnets before you try it.

I think the easiest solution is to pick up the Magnet Fits over at DAZ. You'll get much better, more realistic results than Wardrobe Wizard or Morphing Clothes will ever give you.

Hmm. Never heard of that one.  Is there a link?

Acadia:

Morphing Clothes is just about the handiest utility out there.  I have had fantastic results inserting all sorts of morphs into clothes that lack them.  Muscle morphs, Elite morphs, Girl morphs, the clothes conform extremely well.  I have also used it on many different clothing objects without any problems.

This will not convert from one figure to another (like wardrobe wizard or crossdresser), but if you have clothes for V4 which are older, or simply lack the morphs you want, its a great solution.

Indeed, this Morphing Clothes seem to be the key...

Klebnor, you mentioned that I should load the morphs into V4, name and save, then use that object as the source in Morphing Clothes. But MC can only load cr2's and crz's. How do I save a Victoria 4 loaded with morphs as a cr2 or a crz?

Is that like that "Tailor" utility from Daz? The one that adds morphs to clothing?   It particular program didn't work all that well for me and i didn't bother reinstalling it after one of my many computer mishaps!

If it's better and easier to use and gives better results, I'll consider this one by Dimension3D.

simply inject the morphs, and resave the figure to your figure library under a new name and the morphs will be inbeded into the new figure (assuming you have external binary morphs turned off in your preferences)

Yeah Morphing Clothes is like the tailor but the results I have seen are quite a bit better than the tailor could ever produce, and it works hundreds of times faster.

If you purchased Morphing Clothes, the download should still be in your account.  If you have run out of downloads, just make a post in the Marketplace Customer Service forum, and ask for a reset :)
