Poser - OFFICIAL F.A.Q (Last Updated: 2024 Dec 14 2:19 am)
shante: When I make the JCMs for the feet, I will try to avoid any misplaced humps. As for genital morphs, I have no particular plans for those at the moment. But since there are quite a few very talented people in the Poser porn world, I'm sure someone will take care of such things sooner or later.
WandW: I think what Jules53757 meant is when she comes out as gay. I mean, have you seen the way she looks at Miki?
JOELGLAINE: Sorry for the dumb question, but couldn't you just do the dynamics for each clothing item separately and save them out as props to use in the final render? I know it would complicate the workflow a lot, but it should prevent Poser from crashing, no?
Of course, I'd love to see some dynamic clothes eventually. But as you said, first we need to hammer out the basics.

Sorry about the comment about the feet. I had not been kept abreast of the progress on this way cool figure WIP so I had been missing for quite a while. I came back today to post a thread and noticed this thread at the top of the listing and was surprised to find it still active. PLEASANTLY SURPRISED of course. I loved the works on this at the beginning and love it even more now.
Because I had been missing for so long, like I usually do, I went right to the last page of the thread and worked my way back. Yeah not too incredibly clever. :(
It was on an earlier page I noticed some dancing figure images where the feet were BEAUTIFULLY Illustrated and looking brilliant, that I realized my erroneous comment. I tried deleting or editing this post to avoid making a DONKEY of My Self but could not figure how to do that.
Apparently there is no real bulge on the top of the foot if those earlier renders can be believed.
Sorry.
As far as the Gen morphs are concerned I figured! :)

I bet that remark will inspire a few renders... :b_funny:

Saving Dynamic clothes when conforming is around? Pfffffft. Forget THAT! Limited hard-drive space for one.

I love the direction this is going in but I hope that she will work in older versions of Poser as well. I am still stuck in P4....please don't ask!.....and it would be swell if the texturing and mesh were such that it would still work there.
Hey Fisty
I prefer barefoot or sandals (even hi heel kind if I must) most of the time anyway. I am not sure of the advantage of a foot bone but I will take your word for its necessity. If the quality of the feet I saw rendered in this thread is an indication it is necessary!
I haven't tested in anything pre-P6, but I don't see why the basic setup shouldn't work in P4. Of course, the node-based materials won't work pre-P5, and I've decided to go with PMDs for the morphs, which requires P6.
A bunch of additional pz2 files will be required to make all this work in earlier versions of Poser, so I'm not bothering with that during development. But after the release, I will probably do some backporting unless someone else volunteers. Of course there needs to be some incentive for people to upgrade their ancient Poser versions, so don't necessarily expect those P4 and P5 support files to be free.

well, I have P5, P6 and P7 I just can't run them at the moment on my older box and being a Techno Phobe (if you can believe that) the thought of upgrading my newer box and everything that runs perfectly on it gives me the freaking chills! :(
I suppose I should finally come out of the P4 stoneAge and get at least P6 the last version capable of running on my newer box would be the best thing for me! Oh God!!!!!! :(

Beats me why I haven't been getting my notifications on this thread.
Been super busy and forgetting to check in.
SaintFox, that texture is looking wonderful!
And wow, all the new morph fixes for her.
I gotta get back to some new textures for her soon. :)
Let me introduce you to my multiple personalities. :)

Even more textures... very cool!! It looks as if this girl will be equipped with skins and morphs and a wardrobe like her expensive sisters in the end!

Hmmmmm..... let's see if I understood this right: You have a texture more or less ready and what you need is a lightset that gives the impression of very pale, almost transparent skin with visible veins. A kind of "vampire look" maybe?!
Well, what I would need is the texture itself with the shadersystem you want to use. As you may have seen we need an altered intensity when using the material system that gbagginsbill created.
So if/when you have something ready I will be glad to try my hand on it.
Making the light for profit?! No, I do not ask for any profit for a single light set

She's talking about LIGHT SKIN, not light sets! You goofy fox! Sometimes we get little done, but we always have fun! ^__^V,,

Actually I do have an almost white texture that I made for an image of Akasha from Ann Rice's vampires.
It is fpr V3 but I can adapt it to Antonia.
A light set and/ or shader set would most likely make it look better. :)
I'm not yet savy enough to get the look of veins with vss or any shader system.
Let me introduce you to my multiple personalities. :)

@Joelglaine: Heyyy... you nasty guy!! Now I have an image of a goofy fox in mind (in other words: a fox with the expression of my youngest cat who's a bit clumsy and not very clever).
Veins with shaders... pheww... here you've got me stumped.
As for textures with veins I can recommend two ways to achieve this:
First - look out for a photo-resource with a rather pale skin and look for the neck/throat, the breasts and the groin/upper leg region. If you see veins here you may have found what you looked out for. Don't color-shift the textures more than you need to match parts. If you try to brighten the texture you end up with "flawless" skin with few (if any) veins.
Second: As you already have a skin and I guess that it is already color-shifted I can recommend the "Veins" sets by Victorias. Pick up your color from a part where the blood flows under the skin and that is close to the region where you want to have the veins (pulse, throat, groin, hole of the knee and so on). Now paint your veins on a new layer. This way you can even make a bumpmap from them (but don't overdo it, otherwise you will have a kind of bodybuilder-vampire ;o) ).
Oh, yes, there is a third way: You can give me the texture and tell me what you want to achieve and for which character you want to have it. I will look into it if you like - but please allow up to 14 days as I stuck in a project (kneedeep) and I am still busy with Antonias skin as well.

Hope this isn't a repeat of the previous post which has gone walk-about.
Not sure if the Antonia versions used were the WIP ones available for download or the newer version, but the upper arms seem a tad too short to me. Is it just me? It seems most apparent in the poses posted by BB and SaintFox on page 61, not so in the ones posted by odf later. Maybe it has been altered in the newer version?
Fantastic and inspiring works being posted by everyone :)
As for the pose I've used: This is a quickly converted V4 pose and although it looks pretty the shoulders/collars are lifted up in a rather extreme way. It was just a quicky and I have to look into this pose and see if I can fix the postition of the shoulders and collars.

Yes, we established a while ago that her arms are a bit on the short side in relation to the torso and legs (it was mostly the legs, though, I think). I think it's more that she's too tall in relation to her head and arms than her arms being too short. I won't change the default proportions anymore at this stage, but it should be no problem to either shorten her torso or legs or elongate her arms. I've tried to make the body part scaling work as smoothly as possible so people can adjust the proportions to their liking.
It's also important to note that when her arms are to her side in a relaxed pose, her collars need to move down a bit. I think people tend to forget the collars, which leads to elongated arms for compensation, which leads to problems in many poses in which the arms are bent and the hands supposed to touch the body or head.

I'll probably do something similar for the thigh.

GASP<! You mean we might be looking at a Poser figure with real deforming legs? Her thighs might spread in the X-axis when she sits, as a FBM? Real looking legs when she's kneeling?
That would be really ass-kicking.

Well, the thigh deformation when she's sitting is a separate story. I could certainly make a morph for that, though. But yes, crazy obsessive bastard that I am, I'm trying to make her legs look real when she's kneeling.
JCMs are tricky, even with the new DAZ tools. But I keep accumulating new tricks as I go.

That is the only real way to progress. Keep chipping away at it, and I'll keep cheering you on!

wow, she is looking better and better.
Step aside all you Miss Vickies...lol.
BTW: I have started a new tex for her, Akasha.
It will have an albino tex as an extra with some veins showing through the skin.
I figured out how to do it...yay!
some images will be posted soon.

I'm looking forward to seeing the rest of it when finished.
Deep Paint is wonderful for textures and I wish mine would work.
May just be my comp so I'm gonna install it on another one and see what happens.
I miss using it.

675 as a TIFF? Wow, that is huge! Take into a paint program then export as a jpeg, and see how it folds up. Lossless formats are all well and good, but hi-rez to the point where one could go into a pore is TOO hi-rez! Most views are going to be from 4 to 8 feet away visually.
The texture looks really good,btw!

yes thats why the file size goes up immensly. but the program is great. i dont have to correct any seams cuz you can paste your photos on the seams wich is great. and you dont have to clone out some details cuz the front and the back of the model arent the same resolution. you see deeppaint dont paint on the model but above it. like some sort of mask. its wrapped around the model and floats above the model. so you dont have stretching.
yes cut a fragment of the photo skin. choose projection mode and paste it on the model, you can scale it and then you have to choose for drop. thats it.
if you going to use DP3D than i advise you to export neck + head. and begin texturing on the side of the neck and head textures and then work your way to the front:)
Of course the front photos dont always have the same color or darkness of the side photos. no matter how good your lightning in the photos are, its inevitable to get some difference in color. so if you are in projection mode you can choose the option to go to photoshop ( i recommend CS2, the rest has some problems with DP3D) and then you can color edit the the photo fragment. and if you are done go to DP3D and choose import from photoshop. after that go out of projection mode and tadaa you have the same color as the rest of the face. its not hard but it takes forever though.

You are right about dynamics and multiple figures. While five dynamic clothes on one figure worked fine for me so far I have my doubts about one dynamic clothing on each of five figures... But well - maybe I should give it a try.
