Subject: Hongyu Clothing Morps

roni190 ( ) posted Fri, 29 May 2009 at 9:55 AM · edited Wed, 20 November 2024 at 2:50 PM

My wife recently purchased Hongyu's minidress and jersey dress (both for V3) at renderosity. Our problem is once installed and load into a scene (in DS) the body morphs no longer function on the clothing once it is parented to V3. Movement morphs continue to function but not the specific body morphs. Tried re-installing to with same results.

Hate this as other items we've bought from him at rendo work beautitfully so really want to figure out what I'm missing or doing wrong.

I don't have either of these and have never run across this problem. But I'm wondering if using the "fit to" option instead of parenting might work?

Yeah tried that as well. Never had this problem before, even unparented the dress and the body morph dials still don't alter the clothing. Only thing I can think of is that I had the V4 versions previously installed and perhaps it somehow locked out the V3 PMB's. May uninstall the V4 and reinstalling the V3 versions might do the trick. I never use V4 anymore anyway much prefering good old V3.

Well, I just looked, and since it's an .obj file, I think it does need to be parented.

Maybe this line, from the readme file will help:
"Please feel free to email me when you meet any problem."   ;-)

Good luck!

Hongyu makes DS versions of his products.  Are you sure you've got both versions installed and are using the correct one?

Conforming clothing should be Fit to, not parented.

It is standard for (correctly named) body morphs on the clothes to be disabled when they are fitted to their target figure - that's because they are linked to the morphs on the target figure instead. If you want to set the morphs to a value other than that on the farget figure 9to make up for morphs the clothes don't have, for instance) then select all of the body parts and set the morphs on them (in some cases you may need to enable "Show hidden parameters" from the Parameter palette option menu, the triangle button at top-right of the palette).

Thanks for all the replies... willderue at daz clued me in that I needed to applie the clothes before morphing the clothing and it works that way.

Thanks again for all the help gang! That's why i love this board so much!
