The vein itself looks good although the place is indeed a little bit strange. Yes, maybe more fading... but this depends on personal taste.
On the other hand: I remember seeing a achracter in the galleries (an older texture) called Malefica who had lots of veins on the forehead. I think it was done by Morris. Just for the case that you want to have a look.
If you are going for a "Vampitonia": How about some veins on the (side of?) the throat and maybe very slight ones on the temples. The temples are the typical places where such a vein shows up.
I'm not always right, but my mistakes are more interesting!

Looks great, SaintFox. Very exciting news!
In the meantime, I've been reshaping Antonia's genitals, since I've noticed that her pelvic floor was a bit too low, which contributed to the problems I had with the bends in that region. While I was in it, I moved her clitoral hood and inner labia a bit more inward, so hopefully those bits will be more likely to pick up shadows in renders.
This means I'll have to adjust the existing three JCMs for that region. Luckily, there's a long weekend coming up.
-- I'm not mad at you, just Westphalian.
Quote - Does reshaping means remapping as well?
Not in any way that will affect you. It's only a small change, basically like a morph.
If I see undue stretching between her legs, I might try to compensate by shifting things around a tiny bit. But I'll wait until I have your texture and make sure that it doesn't do any damage. If in doubt, I'll check back with you.
I'll definitely not touch the seams of make any other radical changes.
PS: Unless of course you want me to remap. If you come up with a better way to map her privates, and BluEcho doesn't object, I'm game.

Agreed! The temples, the throat, around the eyes and possibly the cheeks would be where I'd first expect veins. I'd try to find a reference with very pale, translucent skin and maybe extract the blue channel or do some similar filtering to make the veins easier to locate.

Hey ODF when Antonia is finished are you going to present her to DAZ development team to show them what they should have been doing all along?
Definitely not. If anything, Antonia's success will speak for itself.
In fact, I think those people know quite well what they are doing. DAZ figures are built for versatility and ease of use, not realism. With the JCM system I'm building now, it will be decidedly harder to make custom morphs and conforming clothes for Antonia than for the Vickies. Since DAZ's business model is based on selling and brokering huge piles of accessories, that's simply not what they are looking for.
I have no insight as why they turned down Anton. But if they didn't think Apollo was right for them, I don't see any reason they should want Antonia.
-- I'm not mad at you, just Westphalian.
Since I do not have "Conforming Clothes", a product here, would it include the JCM's into the outfits? Would it be worth investing in? I'm always looking for utilities that aid in clothes creation, since I have so many figures.

I don't know much about how conforming clothes are made and whether that product has any special support for JCMs. If it treats JCMs just like regular morphs, that would mean that those clothes would have to use precisely the same joint parameters as Antonia in order for the JCMs to work correctly. I'd imagine that's usually the case, but I'm not completely sure, and there may be exceptions.
Also, for anything that's tight-fitting, the clothing creator would have to understand and replicate the way those morph channels are set up in Antonia. There are probably ways to make this easier, like providing a "blank" CR2 with all the channels for JCMs set up correctly but no actual deltas. But I think it would still be trickier to put everything together and get a complete, working rig for the conforming item than it is normally.
Well, I guess we won't know for sure until we've tried.

I asked just out of curiosity - if it's necessary I will correct what I've made so far. And about remapping: I'll discuss this with Leo, he is the one who already said that he might try his hand on it as he found some parts that are pretty hard to handle when fixing seams.
About clothes: When Antonia is really, really finished and you are satisfied with what you have you may want to ask PhilC if he is interested in adding her to the figures that are supported by his WardrobeWizard. I know that there are already several figures included that live beside the big bestsellers. This includes free and buyable figures

The tattoo is painted by hand directly to the texture to look as realistic as possible. So no, unfortunatly there is no way to seperate it to layers as in fact it only saw Photoshop once: When I made a jpg from it

Correct! The way the tattoo is made gives the smoothest result and looks as if the tattoo is really in the skin. But if you look closely you'll see that you hardly can see all parts of the tattoo at once. And at least you can alter the skin by laying the natural texture over the tattooed one and erase it only there where you want a tattoo.
Oh and Fisty: I like this panty a lot! Using the constrained group tool on all seams - like the rubberband you have in real panties, did the trick for me, even without resizing anything. Settings where:
Fold resistance 3.0
Shear resistance 10.0
Stretch resistance 50.0
Stretch damping 0.01
Cloth density 0.002
Cloth self-friction 0.0
Static friction 0.5
Dynamic Friction 0.02

So what's your policy on renders made with this texture? Can I post them anywhere I like, or should I keep them under wraps until Antonia is officially released?

Cool! Foxy, you did kick ass work. Those pics look like a real biker chick! W00t!
odf, I also noticed that her back has zero definition in the shoulder area of the back. Where are her scalpula (shoulder blades in regular terms) at? With her arms elevated like that, you'd see deformation on her upper back..

Hi,
I read this thread almost every day, it's a pity I can't do anything useful for Antonia.
The whole project is absolutlely outstanding !!
It's also so nice seeing people working together for something free. While I understand your policy, I'm not sure it's absolutely wise : people tend to consider that free is crap, costly is best ...
If there's something I would like to see is shoulder blades and rib cage and hip bones ... I think one must see what's under the flesh, more bones
Everything else is über design !!
Dynamic clothing is a very good idea too!
congratulations to all

Please, don't misunderstand me. I love the texture with the tattoos.
But what I was thinking was what if I don't want to use the big tattoo on the side of her body or what if I don't want any tattoos at all? It sounds like you also have a skin texture without tattoos which is great. I can use as is without Tattoos or use the skin without to overlay the skin with tattoos and do as you suggested...get rid of those I don't want to use for a render.
The difference between getting tattoos on yourself and getting tattoos on a texture for a 3D figure is that as much as you love your own personal body tattoos you are not really sharing your body with others to make their statements..it is your own personal statement whereas on a 3D figure, sometimes you want to be a nut and sometimes you don't and having a choice is great. making those choices available is a wonderful way to add value to a good texture set...I think.
Some years ago I got into a heated discussion with one of the main principals at RDNA. She asked what I thought of a particular texture (INDUSTRIAL/SteamPunk). I thought it was gorgeous but did not like the painted-on pubic hair (often preferring "Turkish Delight "in the real world and in my 3D art) and commented on it and suggesting that instead of painting a red pubic hair to leave it hairless with labial detail and instead make tex and transmap for the pubic hair prop that came standard on V2//M2.
She got all bent. I bought the texture anyway and removed the stupid and I might add, badly rendered painted-on pubic hair and did my own thing with it . But it is a pain when the creators don't seem to understand the notion of offering "options" and use the resources available as standard with the figures they create for to offer options.
I am not criticizing but playing "Devil's Advocate" here as I have always done elsewhere...that's all.
About rendering with the textures or with what you all create from the psd files: Happy rendering!! There are no limitations in what you use and what you render. Have fun with them and we are eager to see what you all come up with!!

@shante: I will definitly not get angry about your suggestions. These things are a question of personal taste and how could I argue about it. As soon as the textures are available to the public, together with Antonia and all her equipment you'll find that it's pretty easy to get rid of parts you do not want for a render. The textures are very large and saved with as few compression as possible. So merging the natural and the tattooed texture together to create a new look should work well!

Thank you. Look forward to using them.
I don't recall here if I read it in this thread but does Antonia have a pubic hair prop as part of the geometry build like say V2 or M2? I know there is a stocking toe prop added but it would be great of there were also a pubic hair prop.

These Textures are freely available for all who contributed, and you can render with them and make images as much as you want .... and please do that, too !! - I hope you'll have fun with that. There are no copyright issues either, since, as always with my tattoo textures, although some ideas are borrowed, all designs have been drawn free-hand.There's a little problem in the transition between the upper torso and the hip/leg texture at the sides - it's possible that I messed something up in BodyPaint there - maybe you can have a look at that...

Hi Leo,
Yes, I'm an old Lipper. In fact I think I still have my official Erstwohnsitz in Oerlinghausen.
As I said before, I love the textures. Thank you so much for all your work. It's good to know that the tattoo designs were not copied from existing ones. Not everyone realizes this, but tattoos do fall under copyright laws.
I've noticed the problem you mentioned and will have a closer look at it. Groins are a tricky region, because there's a lot of deformation going on there when the legs are moved. It's probably best to even out color and shade variations as much as possible in that area.
But let me finish my JCMs first so we see where all those vertices end up when posed, then we can have a look at the texture again and see what needs to be fixed.
Cheers,
Olaf

Thanks Joel! I'll try to pay attention to that when I refine the JCMs for the shoulder area. I think in this particular render it might be okay not to see very defined shoulder blades, though. Since she's holding her upper arms forward, the scapulae would go to the sides and thus not stick out that much, and with the soft lighting they might not be very visible. But I'll check that. If it's not a flaw of the mesh, then it's a flaw of the render, because then obviously I didn't use appropriate lighting.

- On a more arty point of view, I think it's important that the image of a living creature specially a beauty like Antonia help us see how things are fragile and prone to death and decay : this sooo UNdaz ...
Hi Yves,
Thanks for coming out of lurk mode. It's always good to get some fresh feedback and encouragement.
I'm definitely all for skinny characters that are more bony and less "smoothed out" than the Vickies et al. Antonia's base shape is a bit "bland" in terms of muscle and bone definition because I think it's much easier to add definition later in a morph than to take it away. Also, if too much detail is added to the mesh, it gets harder to handle. So I was planning to look at some real lifes models as references later on in the process, and create some unique body shapes for Antonia based on those.
But there are so many things that could and should be done, and so little time. So it'll have to wait until the basics are covered. Maybe at some point we can get someone like Blackheared interested...
-- I'm not mad at you, just Westphalian.
Ribs can be done easy with a displacement map. At least easier than mesh deformations! I'll look into it this weekend. and try to come up with something to play around with.

:woot: You are from Oerlinghausen?! Let us know when you make a visit here and we'll have a Herforder or Detmolder in the pub!! In fact we are no native Lippers but feel so, anyway. Only our dialects still expose us as being from Berlin/Norfriesland.
By the way: Although I do the one or other slender character myself I especially like the more average shape of Antonia. Finally a figure that is not a native bodybuilder, dessous model or marathon runner!

@WandaW, yeah that Y shape is a bit much and needs more fading there. :)
@Joel, I don't know why I'm so tired but seems since the family came down with a virus back in October we all are run down...sigh.
I'm not going to make the skin any lighter on the original maps, that can be done with shaders.
This set will have two texture tones, one will be light but not as much as this one, and there will be some make-up options for those who want to do it in earlier versions of Poser or Daz Studio.
Several iris shades too...wheee!
