Thanks to you Kerya.

I have been working in the some head morphs like open close the eyes, move the eyes, tongue movement, open the mouth, move the ears, lips movement, and change the size of different head parts.

Some WIP example images:

open the mouth :(there are two different morphs to open and close the  mouth), here one of them:

A combination of moving the tongue out and curve the tongue extreme:

You can move the upper and lower lips separately, there is a morph that put the two lips in
"braying" position:

You can move the ears separately, in this image you can see the left ear move to back:

You can move the eyes and open and close them, here eyes completely closed:

You can change the size of different head parts like ears, eyes, thottle, the snouts, the front... taken to the extreme these morphs, you can get different  "cartoon" heads:

More updates soon.

Nice! I like your morphs.
Do you think you could do something about the dent behind the eyes? I think it is a little bit too pronounced.

Yes, I'll make one to smooth it.

Hi, I am working in many morphs. meanwhile , an image of a different texture with no morphs:

An  image of the WIP  draft horse morph with a longer mane:

and a  image of the pregnant morph:

More images and updates soon.

Kerya ( ) posted Fri, 05 June 2009 at 12:02 AM

The pregnant morph is unexpected - and a good idea!
Do you think you could make the hooves of the draft horse morph a bit bigger?
And add some hair around the ankles?

adh3d ( ) posted Fri, 05 June 2009 at 4:18 AM

Hi Kerya, yes of course, I'll make them bigger, anyway, there is a separate FMB that make the hooves bigger. About the hair around the ankles, I am working in them, for the draft horse but for the "normal" horse too. the draft ones will be more abundant. around all the ankle, and the "normal" only in th back part of the ankle.

Thanks Keyra.

An update, the foal, it is a morph from the horse, but due to its size , it will come as another figure.

Kerya ( ) posted Sat, 06 June 2009 at 2:01 AM

Could you make it a bit more skinny?

Hi Keyra, I will try it.

I am working in the graze pose. It can be animated.

More updates soon.

Attached Link: Canter cycle flash animation.

thanks Kerya

I have almost fhifhed the morphs in the horse, the mane and the tail. (I'll put a list).

I have been testing some poses, static and animated. In the link you can see a flash animation of the horse( a canter cycle). It is a WIP pose.

More updates soon.

Looks good, but a little bit stiff.
Do you think you can do something about the hooves, neck and head movement? And the movement of the muscles above the front legs? (Don't ask me for the correct English word for them, please).

To view it just click in the link of my other reply. I have changes the old animation with the new.(perhaps you need to update your browser cache)

adh3d ( ) posted Sat, 20 June 2009 at 6:48 PM · edited Sat, 20 June 2009 at 6:51 PM

I am working in the "leg" hair.

Like the other horse hair, it will have a density morph,

so you can select, with a morph dial, the hair thickness.

In this test render, the density morph dial has a value of 0.5

It will have .like mane and tail, different color textures

adh3d website

Kerya ( ) posted Sun, 21 June 2009 at 3:53 AM

Great! Will it have movement morphs too?

adh3d ( ) posted Sun, 21 June 2009 at 4:48 AM · edited Sun, 21 June 2009 at 4:48 AM

Yes, they have movement morphs  too.

adh3d ( ) posted Sun, 21 June 2009 at 2:20 PM · edited Sun, 21 June 2009 at 2:26 PM

Just an example of a mane morph. With a dial you can put the mane this way, and setting another mane morph dials with this one , you can get different variants similar to this render

adh3d ( ) posted Sat, 27 June 2009 at 12:08 PM

Yes Kerya, I am trying to het that effect.(I am working in some morphs to make different "vertical" manes.

Thanks Seliah.

I have remade (well, it is a new model) the tail, I think now it looks better but opinions are welcome.

A render with the new tail:

An update, a shocked flies pose ( I hope this is the way to say it in English) , in the render to the left side , but you can pose it to the right too.

These poses can be animated.

Looks good - I can hear the swishing sound. :)

RAMWorks ( ) posted Wed, 01 July 2009 at 3:58 PM

That looks most excellent.  Something the Mil Horse does NOT offer is the Fetlock hair draping around the entire area and actually supplying movement morphs too.  BRAVO!! 😄

Oh and you might want to make sure the mane and the forelocks are separate OBJ's as there is a great interest in Centaurs right now and it would be cool to be able to conform them or at least parent them to various figures like M4, V4, Aiko 4, Hiro 4... you get the picture.

Check out this thread here:

http://forum.daz3d.com/viewtopic.php?p=1883189#1883189

Might want to possibly consider making your horse work like this as well.  There are over 80 pages to that thread but once you get the picture of how it's done with the Mil Horse I'm thinking you might be able to offer this as well, in your own way of doing things.

Just some thoughts.  You do excellent work and it's nice to see you working on such a lovely creature.  I don't buy many dresses but well made animals are always appreciated!!  😄

Quote - I am working in the "leg" hair.

Like the other horse hair, it will have a density morph,

so you can select, with a morph dial, the hair thickness.

In this test render, the density morph dial has a value of 0.5

It will have .like mane and tail, different color textures

Hi RAM,   the mane, the tail and the leg hair are individual figures with their own obj each one. They are conforming figures for he horse body.

I had in mind  to  make an unicorn horn and  wings to transform the horse in pegasus..
About the centaurs I have to study it to know how to make it ... Thanks for the daz3d forum post, I will read it with great interest.

About the leg hair, if you, Kerya or anybody want a special movement, tell me and I will try to make it.(now  is the moment)

PS: I have post some wip poses example in my gallery here, in Renderosity.

I looked at the picture in your gallery: very good poses!
Leg hair movement: the kneeling horse - shouldn't the hairs on the front legs fall down to the floor?

adh3d ( ) posted Thu, 02 July 2009 at 4:32 AM

Yes. I can make a morph to do it.

Yes - more or less.  I think there should still be some fluffy hair on the back of the legs ...

I like your horse!
Honest - and the texture is good too. Are the veins displacement or modelled?

adh3d ( ) posted Mon, 06 July 2009 at 8:23 AM

thanks Kerya.
The veins are part of the displacement map

adh3d website

Kerya ( ) posted Mon, 06 July 2009 at 8:54 AM

Remember to put something in the readme about rendering with displacement mapping on. Yes, there are people who are reading readmes ... ;)
Could you do something about the hairs around the hooves to make them a bit more irregular in length?

adh3d ( ) posted Mon, 06 July 2009 at 10:17 AM

yes, thaks for the suggestion.

About the irregular hair, I'l make a morph to do it.

Click here  to view a flash slide show of the textures that will be included in the adhorse pack.

The body, mane , tail and leg hair have separate texutes, so you can combine them as you want.

You will have for every body leg texture two options, sock texture or coronet texture.

Every texture has its own material set, so you can change it easily.

Kerya ( ) posted Sun, 12 July 2009 at 2:02 AM

Looking good!
I like the Palomino especially. :)

Do you think you could do something about the gray texture? Maybe it is the lighting in the render, but it just looks a bit like a black and white photo instead of a gray horse.
Maybe it's just because the colour of the mane and hairs is nearly the same grey. Most gray horses have darker hairs. But as you said you can combine different textures, that would be no problem. :)

Thanks mazak.

Yes Kerya, I see what you say, you can use the black hair  or another color, you can put each hair leg with a different color, this is usefull for the paint horses for example.

In the next render you have the gray body with the black hair.

adh3d website

Kerya ( ) posted Mon, 13 July 2009 at 3:30 AM

Somehow that looks more realistic to me. Thanks for showing it. :)

Kerya, I am glad you look better now.

I am now making the last steps in the horse making.

I am preparing a web side with a litte "guide" tour, so everybody can see in an interactive way what  the adhorse pack will have.

I will prepare a "guide" in pdf format too.

If anybody has interest I make somethig about the horse ,now it is the moment, I will try to make it if I can. Any kinf of suggestion is welcome.

Looking good. I'm not too sure about the chest area (which is one of my biggest gripes with the MilHorse). Have you got a front-on render?

adh3d ( ) posted Wed, 15 July 2009 at 12:14 PM · edited Wed, 15 July 2009 at 12:15 PM

Hi toastle, yes, of course, in the image you can see the default (no morphs) render, and some mophs channels renders, each render is only one morph dial, you can combine them to get different point of shoulder shapes. Anyway, if you want this part  with other shape, you can tell me and I'll try to get it.

Note: In these renders you cannot see it, but the different between size and size all morphs dials is that, while size only affect to the point of shoulder area, the size all affect to all the front part of the horse.
The renders have been made with the horse zero pose.
