Poser - OFFICIAL F.A.Q (Last Updated: 2024 Nov 18 10:25 pm)
The jumping to a different place is caused by translations of the hip actor. Any translations of the hip saved in the pose file will replace any current translations in the hip of the character you are applying the pose to. Poser does not save pose data for the Body actor, so...
To avoid this problem in poses you make your self, never use xTran or zTran in the hip, use them in the Body instead. With yTran do use it in the hip, not the Body (you want yTran to be remembered so that the feet will end up on the ground).
yes Ghost, in Poser 7 they added a checkbox to save body transforms. Thats translations, rotations and I think scale of the Body actor. The saved pose works in any version of poser. Once the info is in the pose file poser will apply it.
It sort of sucks in a major way cause people have been learning for years NOT to use Body in animations , cause they dont save. I dont know what happens when you save a pz3 file :(
@ ghost6677,
Yes, I should have said:
Poser does not save pose data for the Body actor - except in versions after P6, if you use the checkbox to save body transforms.
When people ask a question, and don't specify what Poser version the question relates to, I don't usually specify what Poser version the answer relates to. ;)

When I use a pose button with a figure, the figure jumps to some other area of the scene (I suppose it is going to the spot where I originally set up the pose button. Is there a way to keep the figure in place?
I also notices that this happens with some preset poses, but not others.
I have been spending a lot of time dragging figures around scenes.
Thanks.
