Poser - OFFICIAL F.A.Q (Last Updated: 2024 Dec 12 3:30 am)
Quote - If you apply upright sexy poses to V3, she looks good and realistic BUT one major problem i have noticed is if you view the character from the rear.. and specially if the pose is one where the character is bent over alittle. The buttocks are SOOOO UNREALISTIC.. The Mounds of the buttocks are too narrow.
One way to fix this is to Set Hip XScale to about 120%. Looks great for the back view BUT then if you keep using v3 with this hip change for shots of figure standing up right and from the front, she's disfigured and doesn't look good..thus for animation, it wouldn't work. The only time Xcale 120 looks good is from shots from behind( non animated) , where you see the character's buttocks.
Here is a picture of the really narrow Buttock mounds that most Poser females, including DAZ ones have. Not realisitc at all
Is there a fix for this?? Did DAZ do anything about this for V4? I just have v3 but from all the previews i've seen of v4, it seems v4 has the same problem.
Couldn't, during an animation, you just change the hip scale from 120% to 100%,
depending on the position of the figure? Morphs can be animated, just like positions.
oh man.. great idea!!! i didn't think about that.
But the other problem with this is with clothing. Like say I converted a Pants or skirts with WWIzard.. which i actually already have. I have all my wardrobe ready.. And the converted clothing suually doesn't work well when i scale Hip in X.. it just distorts.
but thanks for the idea, it might work in some situations.
How about the convenience not to screw around with something that someone isn't bound to notice. Similar to hunched shoulders when the arms are repositioned downward parallel to the body. Couple of rotations can fix that. Probably better to make the corrections yourself, memorize, then resave the character to your library. At least you have the satisfaction whenever you load that character that it is corrected to your specifications.
Oh, I care about the rest but I just use Magnets on the butt and legs. However, even when you apply magnets to the shoulders that silly inward curve just doesn't go away. I don't model much; I am not that skilled at it so I would hate to tell a modeler how to do what they do but I just wish that a Vicky model could be released that doesn't have all these weird issues. luckily, there are some who are releasing products here to fix some of the little inaccuracies. especially the shoulder bend issues.
