Subject: import V4 to make statue

blueblott ( ) posted Mon, 22 June 2009 at 6:48 AM · edited Wed, 24 July 2024 at 3:15 PM

**Hello again,

can some one offer a little advice please.
Am trying to import Victoria 4.1 from DazStudio into blender with the intention of making her
into a Marble statue.

Can bring her into Blender as a wav object ok but dont seem to be able to apply any textures to her?

Is there any way this can be done

Thanks very much for your help

Regards Blueblott

delete the eyelash meshes, you won't need them on a statue

delete all the materials that imported with V4, this is to provide a "clean slate"

create one new material, in edit mode select all the remaining V4 verts and click assign in the materials section of the links & materials tab

press the F5 key to enter the shading tab adjust any material properties here

press F6 to enter the texture area, this is where you assign textures to any texture channels you have created. At this point you can use the procedural  or load an image texture into the texture channel.

press F5 again and re-check your values to ensure the shading values are set to what you want and the Map Input is UV and the Map To is color

press 0 on the numberpad and suitably frame the statue in the view

Press F12, evaluate and make any needed adjustments to your material values

I exported a terrain as .obj from Bryce 5.5 to Blender once but I had to add the texture in blender.
