I use mac, and I'd like to get poser 8. If being referred to as a mac f'er will make a programmer happy and will result in a poser 8 that's better then poser 7, I'm fine with it. Programmers rule! please don't put in some secret code that'll only effect mac users like occasionally putting balls on V4 renders :)

well, personally, I don't want mac users to worry.  it's clear from bill's comments that he found coding for OS X to be a challenge (as it should be), but that his interface is largely complete.  furthermore, since the developers and testers are now allowed to make limited comments in re: poser 8 (provided there's no negative impact on pre-orders), we can be assured that, whilst FFRender is still part of the poser 8 pkg, the additions to its GUI were handled in a professional manner by those with a consummate interest in the future of said app.

I recall signing this NDA with them once (not too long ago)...... and it sure didn't leave any room for Daddy to tell anyone under it to just go ahead and tell whatever they like. Either SM doesn't care anymore about their own NDA or something is wrong. The only way to know what's going in is for them to come in an speak out. But as usual they're the silent party and sent in in some frustrated, ranting person who claims to represent them..... go figure.

I've been involved in various situations where something that, in objective terms, doesn't have a huge bearing on the ultimate success of the project but ends up costing an inordinate amount of time and resources and pure frustration.  And then someone will spout off something that sets me off because they underestimate the actual difficulty involved.  Perhaps it was minor, perhaps not.  And then, when I'm finished and am staring at them with baggy eyes and utter exhaustion and time invested that I could have spent doing something I actually liked because of the work I put in for their benefit, they are personally offended.

Those being offended should cut someone in that situation a bit of slack.

Ok folks, I want to keep this thread open.  That means that everyone involved has to take a break from THIS LINE OF CONVERSATION, and go back to the topic of Poser 8.  So, if you read the posts and they piss you off, DO NOT touch the keyboard, step back, take a deep breath, hell, get a sandwich or something, but CHILL OUT.  Everyone is taking things out of context, and I think this does more harm than good.  This thread is great for the Poser community, but it's doing harm personally.
