I would like to know if anyone can tell me how you create the texture files for a characters body. You know the jpg files for the skin head, lips, torso, limbs, eyes, etc? Do you use a paint program to do this or can they all be created by the poser program? I am using Daz 2.3. and have tried most everything I can think of to create these files in Daz with no luck.

Hi Donnetta.
You need two main pieces:

  • The texture layout
  • A paint program like Photoshop

The first one is obtained usually from the Vendor of the product, look in the documentation. If you are trying to make a texture for V4 or other DAZ characters you can find the texture layout at http://www.daz3d.com/i/3d-models/-/victoria-4-2?item=4783&_m=d
click on the "Resources and Information" and download the files.

For painting you have a couple of choices. You can use The Gimp, which is free, or look for "ArtRage" which is very affordable.

Good luck.

Thank you Pret! I was just hoping there was an easier way of making all those files. I have Paint Shop Pro and did download Giimp. I will go to the download link and download the files if they are different than the ones I already have for V4. Thank you for your quick response and good luck with all your creative endeavors!
