Ok, I downloaded Play with Poser's Miyu P4 compatible character. the problem is that I need a P4 woman OBJ file. my problem is that I don't have a obj file, but one that is a OBZ. file. I upload the P4 Fem model no problem in P6, but there is no P4woman obj file. can someone help me.

unzip the obz file.

Load the P4 woman into Poser in the normal fashion, Export it to obj. Save the obj in a folder your character can reference as needed.

Unzipping the obz file is much more expedient.  Also, you'd better mention doing Zero Figure before export or things will get strange.  Figures don't load in zero pose, they load in a memorized pose - usually to aid IK calculations.

with what do I unzip it with? it just says that its a OBZ file, no WinRar or anything.

Open WinZip and drop the .obz file onto it.  Then you extract the .obj file from there (you can drag-n-drop the .obj file in WinZip out onto Explorer to do this).

If you have Poser 6 or Poser 7, there is a Python option you can execute to uncompress the file - best copy it in an external folder far away from your Poser 7 runtime, and process the unzipping  there.

Winzip does NOT open OBZ files.  I have tried this with several programs for unzipping and compression.  I'm not sure how you got it to work but the file format is not recognized even by the newest version of the software mentioned.

I does for me.
I did just what kuroyume0161 said and it worked perfectly.
That was using WinZip 10.

Something else you can try is to change the file extension from .OBZ to .GZ and then try to uncompress the file.

Also, there is a Python script to uncompress files, "uncompressPoserFiles".  It may be under utilities in the Scripts menu.

OBZ opens fine in Winrar.

Is Winrar a free utility somewhere?

I have a .rar file of PS brushes I don't understand how to install.  I thought it was a unix file extension or something.  silly, eh?

I've used 7-Zip to uncompress obz files

"Is Winrar a free utility somewhere?"

Not free but the demo will probably work or "Universal Extractor (http://www.legroom.net/software/uniextract) free should work as well.

There is an evaluation copy of Winrar available.
