Subject: Looking for .....

I am looking for an application that will scramble files... and I don't want them unscrambled.

I need the file size to say the same.

Any ideas ?

Is there a legitimate reason for wanting to scramble a file?

Who's files are you scrambling?

You could ZIP or RAR with a password. Here is a google search page for encrypted files www.google.com/search . The first link is to MS using built in encryption with XP. I've never used anything other than a passworded ZIP or RAR, so I don't know how any of the other works. I've also seen programs that can make files and folders hidden.

@ sixus 1 - really scramble or just fill with garbage ?  I have a couple programs that will do that, they were part of an attempt to do a file shredder prior to delete.

Scramble my own files....and put them up on peer-to-peer.

Filled with garbage would be cool.  :)

The best way of doing this would be to use either RTEncoder or OBJAction mover, with a key file that will never be public, e.g. a noise filled image that you delete after encoding.

It would also be a trivial exercise to write a program to XOR a file against random data.

Or if you have access to a Linux machine (and possibly a Mac), see the attached link for how to create a file with random content via the command line.

I think I know what you're up to, and I fully support it. It's very annoying when searching for DAZ this, or Poser that, and half the damn links that come up are warez/torrents/etc.

I have sent you a pm sixus1.   Link to rapidshare  for program. Let me know if it works for you.

I congratulate you on a new and novel approach to file archives :)
