Subject: simple question???

I now have Poser 7, but still have Poser 6 on computer (mac os x). Now from what I gather..... I have to get rid of Poser 6?..... Before I get rid of all that I have there and reload into Poser 7, just thought I would check with someone who may know.
Also I can't seem to be able to get my textures working. I have tried both in Poser 6 and 7, could one be cancelling out the other? I used to be able to get my texture to work in Poser 6... before I loaded Poser 7.  These are textures I am making ... not bought ones.
I would be grateful for any help in any way with these questions, or if someone knows where I can look it up.
Thanks a lot.

You don't need to uninstall Poser 6 at all. You can have them installed alongside one another, since they are in different Applications folders. They will also use separate preferences files, in your /Library/Preferences folder.

If you have lots of content in the Poser 6 main Runtime, you can create a new Library in Poser 7 and point it to the Applications/Poser 6 folder, and all that content will be available to Poser 7.

The only problem with this might be if you install Poser 7 SR3 (which I would strongly advise you do) then you might get some problems due to duplicated content files across the two Runtimes. In this case, it may be better to create a completely new external runtime for Poser 7 and transfer old content across to it as required, without creating duplicates.

Yes.. I think that might be by problem (cross talking?). I have a spare H.D. maybe I should put one of them on that. I'lI clear out all of Poser 7 and put it on the H.D. and see what happens then. I know that before I had P.7, I had no trouble getting my textures to work. Guess I'll just go back to 'old faithful P6.  LOL
Thanks for answering so quickly

I have poser 6 and 7 running fine on the one HD, Poser 7 shares poser 6's runtime with no problems!

thefixer: did you install SR3 for Poser 7? As far as I recall, duplicate content files did not cause any problems before this update.

Yes I have SR3 installed.
I use Poser 7 but use the Poser 6 runtime from inside Poser 7, never had an issue.

I run on Vista 64 ultimate if that helps.
