Can anyone explain to me what going on with the Daz Galleries!  Some of the images that were in first places are now gone and others have replaced them

I have uploaded images and never saw hide not hair of them again!! Daz hasn't bothered to answer this question in the forums so I though that maybe someone here would know!!

They are changed on a monthly basis.  They only pick 30 pics each month, with each pic chosen, the creator gets a $25.00 voucher.

Each gallery seems to have a different date that they change, so it isn't always at the beginning of the month. 

Also, each pic is chosen by other artists, and the people making the choices do not see who the artist was that created it; in an effort to not play favorites.

I know how frustrating it is, as I have submitted some that I thought were better than any of the pics chosen, but I guess I am biased.! LOL.

That's how it worked in the past but now it's changed. I don't think anyone but the first 3 images placed in a gallery get a voucher any more. I had an image placed 5 in the Plat Gallery and I didn't get anything. Also images that came first months ago are now gone and replaced by different images!!! How can this be??? If you came first 3 months ago how can they take it away?? that my question and no-one seems to able to answer it!

I did answer that part of it.  They replace all images every month. 

Whether they should or not is another question.  Sometimes the winners will get moved to the Hall of Fame gallery, so check there.  Thiose stay for up to a year, I believe.

I know they replace the images every month! They have changed everything about the galleries. they have voting on all the galleries now! In the past if you uploaded an image it did show up in the gallery maybe for a short time but it was there! It's not necessary to be the first placed image to get into the Hall Of Fame either.Here's an eg.of the placing being changed about... In April the Plat Gallery first place was Backstreet Blue's by cwrw and now it's in sixth place, even cwrw mentioned the fact when she uploaded the image to Rendo.I am not being stupid, the same question has been asked on the Daz forums but with no answer from Daz at all!!

OK, I see what you mean.  I was referring to the galleries in general, and not to the PC gallery.  i have no idea how that is handled.  I also have no idea why a pic would change positions after already being placed.  That should never happen if it wants to be credible.

The PC gallery is voted on by the PC members.  If it's toward voting time, the "position" of the image moves in the gallery in accordance to the vote.
Other than that...there's not a whole lot set.  If your image gets picked, it just doesn't get picked.  For PC gallery, I believe only 1-3rd place gets paid, if at all.  The only ones guaranteed getting a voucher for getting in the gallery are the Non-PC galleries.

I sitll find the DAZ galleries a bit confusing.  As of last month they must still give out vouchers to the top 30 in DAZ as I did receive one. This month when I tried to vote in the Plat.Gallery, it was different??  I admit I do puzzle over some of their choices. I saw two July entries (DAZ gallery) that I thought were excellent and had great visual impact, but were not picked as the top three.  Guess It's pointless to wonder why.  :mellow:

I dunno, I don't even look at them anymore.  They're perpetually filled with a genre I find cloying, trite and distasteful:  the skimply dressed, overtly suggestive female model shot.  It's not worth digging through a barrage of images I dislike to harvest the one or two bits of something different and interesting that make it through.

I think that is more or less of what I was trying to say.  Sometimes got the impression that they were picking pieces that used a lot of their vendor's products.  My entry had no people, but did use a lot of their products. :)  And, Yes, V4 does seem to have a problem keeping her clothes on. :rolleyes:

I could never figure out the DAZ galleries to begin with, but I think I'm a little slower than most.  ;P  Plus I already know that my art isn't up to "their standards," so I don't bother submitting it.  I've got this and DeviantArt and I'm cool with that.  If I want to enter an art contest or something I'll look elsewhere.

I go there to buy stuff and make the occasional pointless post, but that's it.  xD

It's actually very easy to figure out: the PC gallery images that are uploaded are being displayed immediately, probably in the order they've been uploaded. Once the PC members are allowed to vote on the images the order of display will change and reflect the votes of the members. There will be only about 30 images kept in the gallery and ony the first three entries will recieve a voucher.

The other galleries are judged by the DAZ jury. Those images will only show up in the new month gallery when the final pics have been picked by the DAZ jury and everyone who has got their pic in there will recieve a voucher.

Way back on the old times you didn't get a thing for submitting an image. The only reward you've got was the fame to have your pic accepted and displayed in their gallery. And I have to admit that was enough for me to be happy since it was never easy to get an image accepted and displayed in their gallery. Oh, and it was only one gallery at that time.

ok well i had two images make the gallery for the month of july, one in Monthly and one in Daz Studio, I got my vouchers. I did notice the 1st, 2nd, 3rd and honorable mentions. My image was 3rd in one of the galleries and it has not moved all month. As for the voting, I only see voting in PC Gallery. That is where they move about until the end of the month.

I occasionally submit my work to the galleries.  Only for my own satisfaction, though.  I'll admit signing on and actually finding vouchers from doing so gave me a smile!

Mostly-it's to add a bit more variety to the V4 barrage.

I noticed that too yesterday - there is voting in every gallery now. I have no idea when that started and I don't remember seeing any announcement about it in their forum. And it's not mentioned on the submit page either - there it still states that all gallerie submissions are judged by DAZ except the PC gallery.
