Poser - OFFICIAL F.A.Q (Last Updated: 2024 Dec 23 8:11 am)
I think what's happened is that they've removed the choice on saving because Poser only saves the right hand data (IIRC there used to be a problem when applying data saved from the left hand).
It's obvious that the logic involved has gone astray (they've followed a chain of reasoning in the wrong direction).
Poser will not ask you which hand when saving, since Hand Poses are universal. On XP 64, but not on Vista, I did encounter a message applying the Pose to the Left Hand, but the Pose applied correctly.
I will add, that no matter if I posed the left hand or the right hand and saved to the Pose Library, they worked.
This might be specific to a figure.
If you are creating the Pose on the Left Hand, try creating it on the Right(or use Symmetry to move it to the Right to Save and see if the issue is still there. There is a bug with saving poses created on the Left Hand for some figures.

The way Poser saved Hand Poses changed in Poser 7.
I can still save Hand Poses, but I must use the Right Hand of the Figure when Saving. That Hand Pose will work on either hand of the Figure.
If I create the Pose using the Left Hand, I did find and report an error.
If you still get an error, contact Support with the details to duplicate. Include System details, it may be specific to the OS.
I tested on Vista and the Right Hand Poses saved correctly and even though on some I got an error message using the Pose on the Left Hand, it still properly posed the left hand.

Hmm.
I have a runtime full of hand poses, for both hands, created by a variety of merchants. Not a single one has ever worked on the left hands of any of my Daz figures. These left hand hand-poses always change the right hand. I assumed this was just a limitation of the software.
It's a bug? Wow. Would be nice if it were fixed.

Perhaps, someone can test it...
I wanted to save the left hand as a pose... I go to the hand library ... Click on +, the New set window pops up
click ok
click ok. However, Poser does not ask which hand I want to save, so only the right hand is saved as a hand pose. Could that test somebody for me? Thanks
