Poser - OFFICIAL F.A.Q (Last Updated: 2025 Jan 15 2:13 am)
LOL you guy are unbeilevable, did one of you even bother to try it?
First off, I am not Jaeson Jones! Nor am i trying to endorse his work, or direct traffic to his site or any of that crap.
I am genuinly trying to show you something that makes installing and unistalling content in to DS, Poser or Carrara MUCH eaiser - something that has worked for me, I thought it was cool so I though I would share it here thats all!
Secondly, There is no malware in this download, Jesus Christ!
yes - of course its an executable (you know - like MOST software is)
Well If its too complicated for you to follow (and it really isnt) - or dont trust me then fine, that is up to you.
For those of you who arent paranoid - I also posted it on the Daz3d forum which allow for screen shots /images to be posted

Though You may need to be member to view the forums (im not sure)
This was my first post on these forums. and an attempt to contribute something vaguely useful.
Meh -dunno why i bothered TBH.
Cya.
Sorry if it was genuine, but if you have been around these forums long enough, you will see a lot more of the other... I do not go to any site, unless I know the site. Seen too many people burned
If it is free stuff, tell the creator to link it in the Free Stuff section here at Rendo... If it is a for sale product, tell the creator to offer it for sale.

Ok, sorry if i came accross abit rude in my last post, (I just spent ages writing that tutorial lol)
Let me explain as best i can what this tool is for...
Its not product that can be Sold
'Generic Mod enabler' is a free and very well know tool in the gaming (particulaly the Sub-simming community over at www.subsim.com)
Now - im just saying that it can be used for Poser Runtime content, to add & remove items, rather than perminantly copy them in to your runtime folder.
What is the point of this you ask?
Ok lets say for instance, i install a pair of hight heels for Viki 4, I have to;
copy the Pz & obj files to the 'Runtime/Libraries folder'.
copy the Mat files to the 'Runtime/texture' folder. ....etc.. etc
Then to uninstall the Viki 4 high heels, I have to manually delete all its related files in the Various sub folders in the 'Runtime' directory.
Its a total mess! not to mention its also a time consuming pain in the ass.
The beauty of the Generic mod enabler, is that it lets you add and remove what ever you want as the click of a button.
It also makes it easy to keep track of which products you have installed (at a glance)
Its an 'oganisational' thing i guess, not everyone cares about this of course...
Maybe i should make a video demonstration on youtube or Something...
I just tried and it works pretty good, it would be even better if I could just drag and drop any compressed file and have it install it for me, instead of having to put everything inside the MODS folder.
Thanks for sharing and for the tut. I rarely unistall content but I had to in the past and this is much better than having to hunt files manually by following the product readme.
Sounds interesting, though I think someone sells a utility that with more functionality it may be a decent free alternative.
A quick Google search shows that this is a legitimate utility in the gaming community. You can judge for yourself as to its usefulness for Poser. IMO, spend a minute or two of research before casting suspicion. - not that suspicion isn't usually good but check first, then give more informed opinions.
Before trusting anything like this for regular use, there are options like SandBoxie, ReturnNil, VirtualPC or VMWare that will allow you to test them without endangering your system.

Hi all,
Sorry i really wasn't sure which forum to post this in.....
I always had a headache adding removing the non-installer content you - where the Content is simply a zipped up folder containing the runtime files.
I thought I'd share this great little freeware tool which allows you to easily add/remove and manage the poser content in your proggies runtime folder.
Its called JSGME (Generic Mod Enabler) It was actually designed as hassle free way off applying and removing mutilple modifications to a Games directory, with out perminantly overwritting or messing up the installation files.
However having tested it with Carrara, Daz studio and Poser - it does a superb job for managing Runtime content (since that same principles apply).
Try it for you self....

And click the link to download the latest version of Generic Mod Enabler.
C:Program FilesDAZCarrara 7 Pro
For Daz Studio and Poser – used the below respectively
C:Program FilesDAZStudio
C:Program FilesSmith MicroPoser Pro
(Or if they are zipped – you can use WinRar to extract them to the ‘MODs’ folder, using the ‘Extract ‘Archived to subfolders’ option)
THAT’S IT! Now fire up your Program and you will find your files in the usual content browser, enjoy!
Likewise you can easily remove/disable content you no longer need via JSGME using the < Disable or the << Disable all button.
TIPs:
For ease of use you may want to create desktop short cuts to ‘JSGME.exe’ and the ‘MODs’ folder to save you bowing to the program directory.
For JGSME to work your poser content files must be structured in the normal/default way, so that the top level folder has the recognisable title of the product and the immediate sub folder MUST be the ‘Runtime’ folder (e.g. Content name /Run time)
Some times when enabling files JSGME will warn you about, overwriting existing files, 99% this is just warning you that a readme.txt is about to be overwriting by another readme.txt - so you can continue to over write without any worries, since the text files don’t effect anything.
Other times it may be you are installing additional content by the same artist - one whose products you ready have installed.
In some cases they use the same MATs for certain objects, again you can 'overwrite anyway' because it’s only replacing the MAT with another instance of the same file.
If you have Multiple Runtime directories, for instance, DS, Poser and Carrara, you can use JSGME in all of them, you just need to copy it to each directory.
Hats off to Jaeson Jones who created the tool. :)
Any questions please let me know.
