Hi Everyone! I'm having a little problem texturing something here. I modeled a Marshall guitar amp in wings 3D, exported (3ds) into Vue 6. Now, it's got this kinda snakeskin-looking imitation leather on it, and I've got the material looking pretty close to the real thing, but the problem is it only appears on half of the amp. On the Speaker cabinet (bottom part) is how it shoud look, the top has the same material assigend, but the bups don't show up.  (it's a mapped .jpg texture) I fiddled with it for a while, changing mapping options and re-assinging it several times, but now I'm stumped. (I also restarted Vue and my computer, since it was yesterday I was working on it) Any Ideas? Thanks for reading

Ben

it appears as though the bump map has not been assigned to the top one for some reason,

Theres a couple of thigns you could try,

Open up the function editor and see if anythign odd has happened, if theres nothign there, assign a texture node with the bump map and try that way.

Or just reassign it in the simple material editor.

Great looking amps though, you really nailed the "leather" material :)

Thanks Rich but no luck. Everything looks normal in the material editor.
I've copied the materail from the bottom and pasted on the top several times now, so all settings should be the same.

perhaps you could try assigning a completely different material (for example like rocks or something) then try and reasign the correct material (assuming you havent tried this already!)

Still no luck. Almost everything else works, All of the mats that come with Vue seem to be fine, one brick texture I made has the same problem, (but my hardwood floor is fine) and the amp skin is still the same, bumpless.

can you post some screenshots of the bump page in the editor? someone will probably be able to come up with something.

just a thought.... whats the scale of the bump material on the top one compared to that of the bottom one?

Good idea, Here's my bump page: The scale and depth are very small, which could cause it to look smooth, but that's the way I have it on the other one, and cranking them up does nothing.

I guess I'll post my function editor too, just for good measure.

Apparently there was something wrong with the 3ds file, I tried using an obj and now it's fine. Should'a thought of that sooner.

Thanks for all you suggestions Rich.
