Subject: Looking for a Hispanic character for V4

nekkidchikken ( ) posted Thu, 20 August 2009 at 12:38 AM · edited Sun, 01 December 2024 at 5:07 AM

I found a couple - one on Renderosity and another through Whatever3d. Both are extremely beautiful but not really what I'm looking for. Anyone have any ideas where another might be hiding out?

Syltermermaid has a few at at DDU. Or at least, she did. She retires characters frequently.

Can you give an example of the look that you want your Hispanic character to look like? I make ethnic characters so  usually I find a decent skin texture to use and morph my own characters from the base.

"Hispanic" is such a broad range of possible facial characteristics. Knowing the "look" that you are trying to obtain would help in your search.

FightingWolf is correct.  Hispanics encompass South and Central America, Caribbean, and Europe.  You need to be specific in your description.

I guess that's sort of a predicament, isn't it? It IS sort of an all encompassing word in these politically correct days. I tried to do a Google search but it turned up more soft porn than I was comfortable looking at, so I'll just try by giving a few famous examples:

Rosie Perez
Jennifer Lopez
Penelope Cruz
Angie Palmero - The woman who plays the wife on the George Lopez show. Perhaps the most perfect example.

Hopefully, that's a good start.

See my link above... I'm pretty sure that one of Syltermermaid's characters was a virtual Penelope lookalike (again, unless she's retired her).

I'm looking through them. I started last night but got distracted.

Most of her characters are over at DDU now.  Their newsletter announced that she's retiring 47 characters, so now is the time to get them. They're only $2.50  each.

I saw an episode of that George Lopez show.  He promised his wife he'd convert the garage into an office in 7 days.  She said he should hire a contractor.  He said "Honey, contractors charge you a lot of money and then hire a bunch of Mexicans to do the work."  Pointing at himself he said "we have a Mexican!"

After 5 days he had finished nothing, so he hired two other Mexican guys to do the work.  They told him the price would be 12 cases of beer.  He said "you want to be paid in beer?"  They replied "that's where the money goes anyway."

George is funny.

Yeah. Ya gotta love George. I'm interested in seeing what he's gonna be like with his own talk show. Always loved him as a stand up comic. Funny funny stuff!!

Boy, the 4 examples only represent a small sampling.  Given that you go from fair skin to very dark, features which are very European to Native Indian mix, and dark to very blonde hair.  Let's see:
Rosie Perez - Puerto Rican
Jennifer Lopez - Puerto Rican
Penelope Cruz - Spanish (from Spain)
Angie Palmero Lopez - Cuban

3 of Caribbean descent, 1 from the Homeland.  I guess that narrows down the field.

nekkidchikken ( ) posted Thu, 20 August 2009 at 11:27 PM

Well, I guess that's partly my point. Not every person of Hispanic descent looks the same, you know. My "small sampling" was meant to show the wide diversity of looks and styles depending where (and even what region of where) the person's roots were. My hopes were to find more than two examples in the 18 million iterations of Vickie (and others). I didn't expect to have to give a lesson in diversity.

I would have given my wife as an example but she won't let me put a picture of her up AS an example.

Believable3D and Acadia, thank you for your links. They were helpful and I think I can find a few characters that will work there.

Attached Link: Gioia

Gioia at DAZ3D might work also ... she's supposed to be Italian but also has a Hispanic flair to her as well. She also has an Italian "shape" (a bit of junk in the trunk so to speak) LOL

I've always thought this was one of the lovelist ladies in my runtime:

See? THAT'S what I'm talking about! Another nice one!

For the record, this one is a freebie.

I know you asked for  a V4 character, but P8 Alyson has a Maria Head Morph that might be a good starting point. She has her own Skin texture independent of Alyson.
