The new system is a travesty.  I agree it is a bad idea and will never post anymore freebies as long as they use MY WORK to make money for THEM.... and forcing people to use this site for freebies will soon mean you will have to pay to post them as I am sure the excuse of paying for the Bandwidth will "Force" them to charge..  They don't make money off freebies so they don't even care if we have any unless they can find and ANGLE to squeeze every last penny out of the artists and those who make items for others out of the goodness of their hearts.  What a sad way to make a very good thing stink to high heaven... my thoughts on it anyway...

I support this petition.  I think the current freestuff set-up is both self-serving and requiring of an annoying number of clicks.  Free stuff by third-party contributors should not be a launching-pad for site-sponsored ads of products by other vendors.  And having free stuff hosted off of the Renderosity site is actually a win for Bondware -- we're not using your server capacity.

I agree with the option to be able to link to outside.
Could sound weird in a person that just did 3 freebies, but I discovered Poser using freebies, major part from here, far in the 2001.
I support this petition too. I just feel in the heart that all of us must  care the freebies providers.
Maybe too poetic, maybe just a silly feeling... but well, I feel that way :)

Thank you again for your suggestions. Based on your requests, we will be updating the file names to be more user friendly.  The file names going forward will be the contributor’s username, the title of the FreeStuff item and a number.

We will also be adding a download button under the FreeStuff thumbnails and adopting the industry standards to reduce the amount of clicks it takes to actually download the FreeStuff file. Specifically, this means that after clicking the download button, advertisements will be displayed and be followed by a window that asks whether you would like to save or open the file.

Another update coming soon is that the download button (which is currently on the bottom of the description page) will be moved up and displayed above the comments.

As previously mentioned Renderosity is hosting the files due to overwhelming requests from our members who want a more secure, reliable, and consistent browsing experience. Our members have been very frustrated at other sites for numerous reasons, and by hosting the files we provide the type of service our members have been requesting.

We have heard from several FreeStuff contributors that they use the FreeStuff are to drive traffic to their website. That type of activity can still be done in the notes section. Some contributors have even put the link to the file in the notes section which is fine, too.

Best Regards,
Jenifer Carey

really your stand on this issue says a lot for the company and those that work there in their backing of the way this is done when you would put the needs of those that are just out to get something for free above those that put their time and effort into providing something, so how will you advertise from the freebie pages when all your top freebie providers have deserted you because you couldn't or wouldn't listen to what they requested after all when it comes down to it they are the ones with the power as the item you are trying to earn a few bucks from belongs to them, your greed does you no favours, i have only provided a few freebies in my time purely as i don't feel that talented but if or more preciesly when i do more i won't be coming here to advertise them
