Content Advisory! This message contains violence

Was sent this link by a friend and thought it was interesting, just passing it along   : )

I did put the violence content advisory as there are a few after battle shots with deceased soldiers in the pictures. Just a heads up.

They say a picture is worth a thousand words...

So where do they go when a photograph leaves you speechless?

Thanks for the link.  There are some photos here I have not seen of those harsh times in this country.   I think every citizen of the USA needs to know something of the war between the states and consider the thinking and flow of events leading into it all.   Thanks again.

WOW! I love old photographs! I never saw one of Lincoln where he towers above the other gentlemen, that really struck me! The shots of the rubble were really sobering.

When I was a history major in college, I took a class on the civil war, the most chilling thing was reading diaries of soldiers and letters from soldiers. I swear I had nightmares for months after that class. I simply don't understand how those soldiers stayed on and kept fighting, considering what they were experiencing. The reality, if you can believe it, was even worse than the worst of those photos.

I hear you there, Nefarious, don't know if you've seen the Ken Burns series, but there is one reading from a soldier's letter and it brought me to tears then, and every time after.

They say a picture is worth a thousand words...

So where do they go when a photograph leaves you speechless?
