there is a poser file parser in the freestuff utilities section. I doubt its what you need though.
I would suggest you work in the material room . You can copy over the mat nodes for one item and paste them to the other , then save a mat collection . You can easily edit the collection to be a mat pose .
Ahh I'll have to take a look in the free section.
Doing in Poser, for me, is very time consuming. I used to do it that way for my hair expansions, doing each texture mat separately.. but if you look through my hair add on packs, you can see why I needed to come up with a better solution and so have a small Groovy script that my hubby wrote for me to automate some of the process.. This works wonders for hair tiles since the only difference in the files is the numbering. The file names themselves remain the same.. ex: 001-Hair-Tile.jpg, 002-Hair-Tile.jpg etc..
But with things like ribbons and barrettes that could use Material Room merchant kits along side PSP made textures, this little Groovy script won't always work in cases like that ...which is where my hunt comes into play... lol..
Anyway, thanks for the tip about the free section. Never thought to scour it.

Ok, let me try and explain it a little more.. it's easy for me to see it in my head, but wording it.. that is a whole new ball game.
So how about steps... In this example, I'll go with the barrette/ribbons again.
In Poser I create all the CR2's for the Barrettes.
Open each one in turn in CR2 Builder, and strip out all the extra stuff that I do not need and only leave the materials for the Barrette.
Now I want to use the same mats to make matching ribbon textures, but I do not want to have to go back into Poser and manually apply them all, and create CR2's for every ribbon, and then strip the CR2s with CR2 Builder.
I want to just copy the mat poses I created earlier for the Barrettes, batch rename the files to Ribbons (which I can already do) and then within the pz2 itself, the material needs to be changed to Ribbons (which I can also already do)
But in this case, there are more then one material for the ribbon, but each material would use the same settings. So what I need to be able to do is clone the first (and only) material as many times as I need for the ribbon, and change the name of each of the new materials created...In this case material Ribbon1, material Ribbon2, material Bow1, and material Bow2.
Did that make sense? lol
I have since finished doing this all by hand, but would love to get my hands on a tool that can help with this sort of process by automating it... (sort of a script that I can run - add this X number of times, set this this, change that to that, and run.) lol Sorry I am not a programmer by any means. lol

Hello,
I am wondering if anyone has any ideas as to where I can find a very specific item.. I am not really even sure how to describe what it is I am looking for...
But basically it's a Poser file parser of sorts. This is what I do, and what I need this parser to do for me...
Let's suppose I am working on a hair add on package (no big surprise there) that contains hair ribbons, and hair barrettes and my goal is to create matching textures for the hair ribbons, and the barrettes. What I want to be able to do is create my MAT poses for the barrettes, and then simply copy these Mat poses to the Ribbon folder to be able to use them on the ribbons.
Now what I need to be able to with this parser, is open the pz2 for the barrettes and change the material's name to reflect the ribbons. Now this is easy enough if there is only one material.. but what I need to be able to do, is change the material's name, and also clone, or duplicate the existing material, and rename it to match whatever additional materials might be needed for the ribbon. Make sense?
Right now I am doing this all by hand, and it can be a real pain in the arse after a while. Hair mat poses are easy.. accessories are not. LOL
Anyone know if there is such a parser out there that can do this?
Thanks!
