Are there other ways to include background images beside Edit > Backdrop?

Make a primative plane and go into your surfaces tab.  Select Diffuse and scroll up to Browse.  Find your jpg or png and click on it, then ok.  Depending on the resolution of your jpg/png or whatever format you choose-you should be able to use it that way.  I have on a few renders myself.  Make sure the opacity is up to 100%, though.

Hi,

you can use an Environment-Background like the Color-Backdrop from DAZ. Or use the Blank-Tail from the Beach-Environment. With the Surface-Selection Tool you can add other Images to the Tail.

Greetings,
Alex

The Environment backgrounds work with the cyclo-rama from daz3d.com-which would work; remember that they accept shadows, too, like any prop.

I don't use the cyclorama for the most part due to how flat everything looks; even with the 'trees and plants' that come with it.  (Which are made up of flat planes with jpg/png images like my last post suggested.  XD)

The scenes that Alex offered up should be included in your D|S application if you are using that program.

Doesn't work for me. The plane or any primitive does not add any picture. It only responds to color changes.

Hm.

I know in carrara you can do that-though it's called a splash primative (a cheather's way of making forests without having to use poly's.  Found it in a tutorial awhile back.).

Coulda sworn that it would work, based on the foliage that are included in the cyclorama;  they are plane objects and not 3d models.

Perhaps putting the picture onto the cyclorama itself in the diffuse section (not the color bar, but the scroll down bar - it has a white arrow at the right side of it.  Not to sound insulting, just in case it was missed the first time.  Honest.).

I know there is a way to do it, I've done it!  Darn it.

Cyclorama looks good. Maybe I can use it.

Found the problem, but haven't solved it. Did exactly the same in Daz 2.3 and this works perfect. In Daz 3.01 it doesn't work. I cannot add a picture to an object. Is this a bug or a setting I have missed.

I got it to work in 2.3 as well, but haven't tried to do it in 3 just yet.  That's just ... odd.

When/if I get time at home this weekend I'm going to have to try now. You've perked my curiosity.  :)

I hope the cyclorama idea works!

Are you sure you haven't switched to smooth shaded preview? Are other items textured?

Oops, yes. Please don't shoot me. I am new at Daz.
Thanks.
