I recently discovered a quick and dirty way of doing a split tone in photoshop.

Basically get your monochrome photo up, bring up level layer, then play around with the black and white points of the colours (as opposed to the complete RGB sliders) - drop down box at the top of the levels window - and you can get split tones / tints.  Havent stopped to think how it affects the pic quality but it seemed to work ok for a 5 second play around.

not quit sure if this worked out; its the  "onze lieve vrouwekerk" in Breda and in front the Castle of Breda, known as "Spanjaardsgat"

The only mark I've made in life,

Pretty easy to follow, thought I'd try it on a non landscape photo, I like the result. It made the droplets even more outstanding than in the original.

So where do they go when a photograph leaves you speechless?

Okay, I cheated, I used split toning in my RAW file, using PSCS4. The whole point being to try out split toning! I had never really thought about trying that, I usually just go for normal B&W toning. I like the idea of picking out a different color, for say shadows, as opposed to a darker shade of regular toning. Very cool!
