I have had Bryce for a while but done nothing fancy with it. I have run into a problem and I am stumped - please help me. I imported an obj file of a plant. The branches are modelled as flat polygons and use transmapped image textures. I have applied the textures using the material lab being careful to tick the "blend transparency option". However, some parts of the plant don't show the proper transparency, others do. I have some branches that look fine, others are black with the image of the texture showing. All branches use the same material. The same object renders fine in Poser 8. I must be doing something wrong in Bryce, but I don't know what. An image of my test render is attached.

Most obj. plants are usually made of 2 or 3 parts. Hold down Ctrl and click on the model to see a list of each piece, and then treat each seperately in the mat lab!

Hope this helps!

which version of brye? import it thru daz if you have version 6.

I have version 6.1, but my Daz studio is version 3 and they don't seem to talk to each other. I'll install an older version of Studio to see if that helps.

You will also need to move the transparency blob into the relevant channel and make sure it is reading the alpha information.
I can do a screen shot later if you need

Airflamesred, I would appreciate that very much.

The whole object has only one group, referencing a single image. So I was not able to apply materials separately for the different branches. I don't think that is the problem anyway, otherwise it would not render properly in Poser, which it does.

Daz studio and I are not friends. Perhaps I just haven't spend enough time with it.
