Subject: Pose tools not working when in 4 views

Bill B ( ) posted Wed, 11 November 2009 at 7:59 PM · edited Sun, 29 December 2024 at 12:17 AM

I can not directly select any body part with the mouse.

When I have view port layout set up for 4 view ports the pose tools do not work.  But when I use a single perspective view everything is ok.  BUT I would like to work in 4 views to pose.  Here is what is happening.

Pose Tool

I can not mouse select any body parts with the pose tool directly.  The only way I can activate a body part to move it is to selected it via the figure hierarchy tree then move the body part.

Rotate Tool

If I select the rotate tool click the figure it dose not activate the tool.

If I then go and select a body part via the figure hierarchy tree it highlights the body part with the rotate obit around the joint, BUT when I go to mouse click to drag the wheel it the orbit disappears.  Furthermore I can not directly select the body part to activate the rotate orbit, I must use the tree to activate it.

Translate Tool

Same thing is happing with translate tool as soon as I go to click on the body part the bounding box disappears.

Is there a preferences that needs to be turned on?   Am I doing something wrong?

The power pose and parameter based poseing dose work.

Under the "Tools" menu, select "Rotate", "Translate" or "Scale" (depending on what you need) and when you mouse over the object you will be able to affect it.  You probanly have one or all of these option unchecked.
