Subject: Attach Shoes

CharlieDog ( ) posted Mon, 16 November 2009 at 9:34 AM · edited Thu, 09 January 2025 at 11:44 PM

I bought some shoes for V4 and would like to attach them to P8 Alyson.  Is there some easy way to do this?  I notice the shoes show up as a figure so I have been trying to move them in place using the parameter dials, difficult to say the least.

Also is there some way to disable body parts so that they are not taking up memory so it is easier/smoother to move the feet and shoes.

Done properly will these shoes move with Alyson poses?  If so how do I do that?

Thanks

BAR-CODE ( ) posted Mon, 16 November 2009 at 9:42 AM

They ONLY fit the figure they are made for ....
So V4 stuff fits V4 unless it has mophs to fit other  series 4 figures like AIKO4 and TG4

Non DAZ figure cloths will fit Poser figures and vise versa..
If you like you can try the wardrobe wizzard in P8 to make em fit ..but thats not as simple as it sounds

Adding to BAR-CODE's comment, you cannot use the conform feature for the shoes.  You will need to move the shoes to where you want them and parent them to the feet.  However, they will not respond well during animation.  Wardrobe Wizard or Crossdresser might solve your problem.

Wardrobe wizard says that it isn't supported.......Drat

PhilC ( ) posted Mon, 16 November 2009 at 10:23 AM

Wardrobe Wizard supports V4 and P8 Alyson

May I ask where you were looking?

The support files for Alyson come with Poser 8

First of all I want to apologize, I haven't put in the effort to know what I am doing

Figure>delete figure

Library >figures V4 High Heel PumpL

Scripts>wardrobe wizard

Window>Python Scripts>analyze full body morphs

PhilC ( ) posted Mon, 16 November 2009 at 10:59 AM

Not a problem. :)

You'll need to get the Wardrobe Wizard support files for V4. Either click the "Convert" button to bring up the main Wardrobe Wizard window and then click the "More Figures" button, bottom left. Or use this direct link:-

http://www.philc.net/store_WW_Extra_Figs.php

Hope that helps.

I'll do that and read up on wardrobe wizard and then get back to you

Thanks

I trust its the files for $4.95 WW2 Support for V4, V41, V42, V42 Male

Yes those are the ones.

You have another solution ... Importing the obj from the shoes and place it manualy, after you just have to play with the morphs and create props.

Well, I installed the files as instructed but don't know what to do next, they don't show up in the python script window?

I sure hope I'm not expected to buy version 2 to use these files

PhilC ( ) posted Mon, 16 November 2009 at 4:57 PM · edited Mon, 16 November 2009 at 5:00 PM

To be sure that I have understood you correctly may I please ask, what do you mean by the Python Script window?

Are you using Poser 8?
Poser 8 includes Wardrobe Wizard 2

If you click the Poser menu Window > Python scripts do you get a pop up window appearing containing ten buttons?

Is the first button noted as "Wardrobe Wizard"?

If so and you click on it does the button list change so that the first button now says "Convert..."?

If you click on the Convert button does the main Wardrobe Wizard window appear?

Does V4 & V41 appear in the two scrollable lists labeled "Convert from" and "Convert to"?
The lists are arranged alphabetically.

You may need to close then restart Poser for it to recognize new files.

If V4, V41 does not appear it will indicate that you have not installed the files correctly. The files are supplied in a zip archive. The instructions that came with the download indicated that the extracted files should be placed in the folder Poser 8:Runtime:Python:poserScripts:PhilC:Wardrobe Wizard P8:data

A video overview of how to use Wardrobe Wizard may be found at:-
http://www.philc.net/WW2_plugin_overview.php

Full instructions are in the Poser manual.

Thanks.

 I figured out the problem

Your files did not extract when I extracted them to the data file, it just moved them there.

So I unzipped the files in place and that did work either because it created a folder in the data file.

I copied the files in the folder into the data file and now it shows

I'll read the php and see if I can figure it out  from there

I have the general idea of Wardrobe Wizard figured out relative to conversion, but the shoe comes into the scene rotated 45 degs up.  The rotate morphs just move the shoe up and down as if the translate morphs were used, the translate morphs of course do the same thing.  If I manually rotate to get the shoe level on the ground the shoe rotates around the very bottom tip of the heel bending and distorting the heel.  Any ideas

PhilC ( ) posted Tue, 17 November 2009 at 3:08 PM

I have to admit I'm having difficulty following. Is this before or after conversion? Are the figure's IK chains on or off?

Are you permitted to send me the files so that I can load them up here. That way I'll see what you see and we can go from there.
