CRT ... it is a synonym for heavy.
for instance, my TV weighs 175 pounds, and my minotr is 40, and my neck hurts

Turn the image on its side in your mind... and send an email to the artists like you (saw your avatar) that do that.

My issue now aside from those sideways promos is all the terrible promos composed as if shot from standing on a ladder over the subject or maybe from a ceiling fan and not one render from waist or eye level. This technique is usually used in conjunction with promo copy that leaves me completely uncertain as to what in the render is the actual product... the clothes? the hair? the character?
now that looks very useful.

I have to agree, and also the images of the model looking up at the camera, or not showing the back of the model. I'm not in the store to buy art, I'm here to see if there is a model I can use in my own art. Like the new hair that shows about 90% of the models face, but only 10% of the hair and that's what they're selling. You are selling a product guys/gals, you should be showing it in the best and most informative light in order to give us, the buyers, the most info you can about it. Usually when the pics don't show what it is, I just pass and don't even check the product out. If you want to sell the items then show them...of course it's always your choice to show off the art you made with your product but realize that everyone's taste is different and your pics may turn someone away instead of encouraging them to buy.
Just my opinion.
Every time a specific part (like if it's a male texture: the genitals) isn't shown I conclude that there's either something missing or something wrong. And skip that product.
And I¨'m more annoyed at the flashing things in the side bar. the top banner is easily scrolled away from if it flickers and is annoying, but that pesky side bar thing stays right smack where I'm trying to READ something.
Out of principle, I'm noting the vendors that post annoying flickering side bar ads - and boycott them.

You just can't put the words "Poserites" and "happy" in the same sentence - didn't you know that? LaurieA

Quote - ... anyway, let's get back to the right side up images. I think it better portrays the product anyway, instead of having your customers turn the damn monitor sideways to see them correctly. My 21inch CRT is damn heavy too.
Harsh words from someone with a nearly sideways avatar...

8 identical renders, the only thing different is the haircolor.I HATE that.
Fine, if it's a texture product. But if you're selling the model, then show it from all angles please.
Well, at least Daz has a decent returns policy.
They propabably just assumed that everyone has already seen the promos when it was here.
This has been a pet peeve of mine as well. I've noticed a lot of hair/clothing promos just showing the front of the product. I think there should be 3 base images, front-side-back and then they can get artsy with the rest. I agree on those side images. Also the promos where they seem to be advertising one item but showcasing another. Such as I've seen some hair texture promos where the models appearance distracts from the reason behind the promo. Granted, they're trying to kill 2 birds with 1 stone pretty much.
My 2 cents worth...

what's with all the sideways markeplace images anymore?
sure, its all artsy fartsy and stuff, and some of them are done quite well, but my damn neck is kinked to the side now. People think I'm some kind of weirdo when they see me all bent over and shit*.(well, they thought that before my neck was all bent over, too)
anyway, let's get back to the right side up images. I think it better portrays the product anyway, instead of having your customers turn the damn monitor sideways to see them correctly. My 21inch CRT is damn heavy too.
